Ndamukong Suh is probably the most dominant defensive force we have seen over the past 10 or 15 years. He was transcendent.

Tyrann Mathieu was a ball hawking machine along with being a dynamic return specialist while being the best player on the best defense on a THEN undefeated team. All the criteria you laid out.

Based on voting neither one of those guys came close to winning the Heisman.

I just don't think Te'o had a good of a individual season as those listed above.

Some guys in here, mainly Oregon fans, have a bout 0 clue about anything. Someone even said Notre Dame is not a top 5 team? Lol.
They beat a top 8 Oklahoma away, Stanford (who beat Oregon mind you) and then a rivalry game against USC away. They also played a top 20 Michigan team who barely lost to the other undefeated, Ohio State.
Oregon couldn't stop USC, won a shootout and then lost to Stanford. They played 2 tough games and lost 1 of them. Notre Dame won every single game they played. If they are not top 5, I'd love top see where Oregon is in those rankings.
Bottom line, you don't win championships because you can run a flukey offense and score a lot of points. Oregon faced exactly 1 tough defense this year and lost that game putting up 14 points. Get outta here with all that mess.
seriously who is your team?

THIS

if you want to go with other LB's

look at what Lavar did at penn state

dan morgan at miami

derrick johnson at texas

James laurinaitis at ohio state

teddy lehman at OU

and tell me how how Te'o is in the hisman race?

Glenn dorsey killed it at LSU should he have won the hisman?

Were those overrated SEC teams winning on the road over 1 loss ACC teams, OOC?

Did I see that correctly?

Not even the 2 strongest teams neither, just 2 solid SEC teams, getting it done.

But hey, nothing to see here, we're gonna overlook this and find a game that fits our profile later on down the line to use, ya know, just cuz. Maybe we'll just focus in on Georgia and Bama's opponents tonight and pretend the other games didn't happen, for the sake of our argument. That'll be nice.

I just don't understand this at all. So, Notre Dame has no offense (apparently) and went undefeated. Their middle linebacker leads the nation in interceptions and had over 100 tackles. He had two picks against Michigan, 1 against Oklahoma and 1 tonight against USC. The three biggest games with National Championship implications and from a rivalry standpoint.
I watched people post in here how great the games were today. How today was the greatest day of the year because of the rivalry games. Te'o came up big in EVERY situation whether it be a pick here or goaline stand there.
This is not a linebacker who had a few picks against Alcorn St. This is the best linebacker in the country on the best defense in the country on the best team in the country as of heisman voting. He leads an undefeated team that would be the unanimous #1 and champion if we were back in the old days. THAT transcends college football.

Best LB in the country ? Best defense in the country ? Man shut up

I'll take Jarvis jones over him any day...and if we talking about just flat out defensive monsters Clowney> manti Jarvis>manti

Oh boy. I didn't really care about Notre Dame's return to relevancy before, but if the last couple pages are any indication of the dumb *** conversations to be had going forward, I'm totally going anti-Irish.

Borges called a horrible game and now things go back to normal with Ohio State winning.

I actually think I hate gardner as much as I did hart.

Somebody needs to get hoke a headset. What does this man do all game? Wearing a short sleeve shirt in 20º..you look like a moron. And you lost.

Drob went out like a punk. They didnt use him largely the second half and he was no where to be found trying to get back in the game. Probably huddled up by some heater.

I been waiting ALL year for this.

Bowl game be damned. Don't een care.

The Trustees, who all serve pro bono, are guided by a devotion to college football and are committed to community service and the valued tradition which the Trophy represents."

This will end the debate right here... Take Johnny off TAMU and take Teo off Notre Dame and what happens? Notre Dame still ends up with a solid defense and TAMU comes nowhere close to their record, not to mention beats Bama in Tuscaloosa... This is Johnny's award and its not even close.

Johnny Heisman is going to win it. If he weren't a freshman, there wouldn't even be a discussion. He's the reason why the national champions will have lost a game this year.

 @ Mathieu being the best player on that L$U defense. He wasn't even the best corner on that D.

what I hate about ND is people with no ties are like "I am Irish", when they didn't give a damn about them for years

it's all good though; you can kick back and watch Brady Quinn start today

That was the most dominate 6 point second half I've ever watched against Michigan. I'm gonna hate having another decade of losing to you guys.

now I am hearing that even if OU wins Saturday the chances of an at large BCS bid is slim because Boise/Kent St vs. NIU winner may get the big because of some stupid rule that they may finish in the top 16.

Boise has no good wins and lost to overrated MSU. Kent St. got blown out by Kentucky!! and NIU lost to a FCS football team.

OU still needs to win though.
