2014 NBA Draft Thread

After watching exhausting amounts of highlights and scouting vids since the draft I'm honestly shocked Jabari wasnt the #1 pick

Seems like he's got the goods kid scores from everywhere, ball handling , off the dribble , catch and shoot , finishing in traffic (with contact ), and size means this kid gonna hit the ground running.

He's got the grown man game I'm a fan of his already, hope he shows out.
The gap between Wiggins and Parker offensively...is MUCH smaller than the gap between them defensively...and that's the difference.

If you can get a guy that can get you 20+ per night...and be a First Team all defensive player...you take him every time over the guy that can get you 25+ but gives up 25+

That would be an opinion I have to disagree on, the gap between them is quite large from what I see....I see flashes of Melo and other grown men in this kid.

Wiggins seem to still be finding his offensive game , Parker already has his he's probly just going to get better at it.

Wiggins is stil very raw

Parker is ready now , or at least more ready than Wiggins at this point.

I guarantee you Wiggins is not scoring 20 a night.

Guarantee.

Guarantee's so dumb this early. Just say you don't see it happening.

Some dude on twitter last night got killed for saying steph curry wouldnt be **** for the warriors and would be a major bust 4-5 years ago and somebody brought the tweet back to light lol.

Moral of the story..you never know

Are you totally ignoring the other side of the ball?

I wasn't talking about their first year.

Why do people act like players get drafted only for what they're able to do in their first season?

That's ******ed.

I know I'm late and a newcomer to this thread but thinking of Kyrie and Parker on the floor together would've been filthy :x

He would feast on the open floor space in front of him while 2/3 guys run at Kyrie , I can't help but feeling Cleveland made the wrong choice.

Not even trying to dis Wiggins but Jabari looks like the truth and when you factor in the green light he'll have in Milwaukee he's about to do work.

Not totally but I think it's overblown in most cases these days, plenty of the all timers weren't defensive players but nostalgia just glazes over it with blanket statements like great team defender or hustle player :lol

Wiggins looks like hes 2/3 seasons away from having the impact on defense that most people think, he's to frail and inexperienced to stop any noteworthy wing player from getting where they want.

I'm sure Durant can't wait to finally post someone up, he probly circle the Cleveland game when the schedule drops :lol

So does Kyrie :lol

very subjective topic of conversation, but wow to people thinking this is the case. Bari grew up a shooting guard. As dude mentioned, he's played out of position as a freshman. He also had an injury that set him back in HS which is why he got out of shape. Bari is light years ahead of Wiggins in terms of his overall offensive repetoire. quite frankly, I like Jabari's offensive mold better than Melo's at this stage in their career. Free Bari!

Yeah, y'all should look at Jabari Parker the summer before his sr year. He was more explosive and leaner than he is now. Still going to do work though.

Y'all overrate the **** outta "two way" players these days. That's the reasoning behind all the Paul George love earlier.

Ron artest could give you 20, and was the best perimeter defender...that didn't mean he was a top 5 or 10 player though.

All this aside, wiggins is nice as hell...and has great offensive potential himself. 17ppg in bill selfs offense as a freshman, and playing great D is well deserving of the #1 pick.

Pippen might be Wiggins ceiling and thats a REALLY good ceiling

Man hellllllllllllllllllllllll the **** no. Not even ******* close. I swear I've never seen a player's defense so overrated in my damn life. Wiggins was not even locking up guys in high school OR college. He made some great defensive plays and has potential to be a great defender because of his size and athleticism but he is not this top 5 perimeter defender in the league already in his rookie year like you guys make him out to be. Kid is frail right now, he's not ready to go to battle with grown men who are just as athletic as him or atleast close to it.

Rudy on O at best but not as selfish. I think of Wiggins as more of a finisher then a creator. Pip started the Offense in Chicago. Now on the d side is a different story.

First time I heard someone say 2 way players are overrated.
