2014 NBA Draft Thread

Pippen might be Wiggins ceiling and thats a REALLY good ceiling
Man hellllllllllllllllllllllll the **** no. Not even ******* close. I swear I've never seen a player's defense so overrated in my damn life. Wiggins was not even locking up guys in high school OR college. He made some great defensive plays and has potential to be a great defender because of his size and athleticism but he is not this top 5 perimeter defender in the league already in his rookie year like you guys make him out to be. Kid is frail right now, he's not ready to go to battle with grown men who are just as athletic as him or atleast close to it.
Man what thell are you talking about? when did anyone ever say he's a top 5 perimeter player in the league already?

Wiggy DEFINITELY has the potential to become an elite defender. Maybe not right away but definitely sooner than later. Defense can be taught

Buc Em's favorite team was about to gut their entire roster for Wiggins, for a reason. Yet he still thinks Wiggins will suck :{ :lol

It came out after the draft that wasn't true and they never even had those conversations with Cleveland. NT's favorite journalist Woj said it himself as well as several others.

We also don't have a "roster" to gut.

Not totally but I think it's overblown in most cases these days, plenty of the all timers weren't defensive players but nostalgia just glazes over it with blanket statements like great team defender or hustle player :lol

Wiggins looks like hes 2/3 seasons away from having the impact on defense that most people think, he's to frail and inexperienced to stop any noteworthy wing player from getting where they want.

I'm sure Durant can't wait to finally post someone up, he probly circle the Cleveland game when the schedule drops :lol
So does Kyrie :lol

:eek :rollin

I wasn't talking about their first year.

Why do people act like players get drafted only for what they're able to do in their first season?

That's ******ed.

Exactly. :lol

I never really understood the fascination with who's more NBA-ready right now, like their respective teams are gonna be competing for a championship next year or something.

But we talking about PRO production, Scottie was a walk on- at Central Arkansas, he wasn't exactly locking up all Americans before the Bulls days.

Wiggins is a lockdown defender. With top 10 athleticism.

What the hell does that have to do with anything? Scottie came into college at 6'1 and hit a growth spurt to get to 6'8. In his last season at Central Arkansas he averaged 24, 10, 4 assists and 4 steals on damn near 60 percent shooting.

Ben Wallace went to a community college then Virginia Union and went undrafted.

Rodman was a damn janitor out of high school then played at Cooke County College and Southeastern Oklahoma State.

Your argument sucks.

What?

We talking about ceiling though and you talking about what he's done. YOUR argument sucks.

Alright cool. Everything about Wiggins is based on potential. We'll see how he ends up, I'm done talking about him til summer league.

You don't tank whole seasons for certainty.

You do it for that CHANCE of acquiring a superstar.

Jabari Parker for all his ability is an average sized PF, with average athleticism, tough to find many many top 10 players who aren't either elite athletes or have elite size for position.

Even if the chance is small, and the floor is low, to me the only sensible decision was to draft, Embiid/Wiggins 1, I would have went Embiid even with the injury, tough to see perimiter player really flourishing with Hot Sauce Irving, dribble the basketball for 20 seconds every possession.

I've noticed your negative hard-on for the young God, Jabari. Is it the Duke connection?

You gotta let that hate out your heart, scrap.

I hate him because I had him as the 3rd best player in the draft? :lol

I also said he was going to be the most productive college freshmen, and a possible POY candidate before the college season started.

Strange way to hate.

An averaged sized power forward with average athleticism............

Jabari = Paul Milsap I guess

why would Jabari be considered a PF in the NBA? what the hell media outlet are y'all watching to make you media parrot these uniformed statements.

I'm all for letting everybody cook in their opinion but you sound like a twitter scout. never seen dude play but got a scouting report, boxing him into some random category of player that doesn't even fit him.

as I've explained multiple times, your position is who you can guard, he played PF/C in college and he defended poorly, why would it get better in the NBA?

how many 255 pound SF's do you know?
