2014 NBA Draft Thread

And specifically, what players have the Lakers drafted that have blossomed into a legit star via development?[/quote]

not stars but cedric ceballos didnt make a all star game until he went to the lakers....lamar odom didnt come around until he came here ...drafted nick van exel , kobe bryant , andrew bynum , eddie jones , marc gasol.....players like shannon brown , trevor ariza had their most productive stints with us....shaq was completely different monster when he came to us...kendall marshall was damn near out if the league when he came here , and he was having insane assists numbers..... they've done as good of a job as anyone developing talent .

b/r and dimemag??? that's almost as bad as the onion.
honestly, do you follow intl ball?
Did I say it was the best, I said one of the best. And I don't follow it like the NBA, but I know enough to say what leagues are good and which aren't.

Even with all those names, you still can't base it solely on the franchise.

Wes Johnson still can't dribble after being a laker for a season. The lakers, like every franchise has their flameouts.

Some guys either don't improve or they don't want to improve. Minnesota drafted Kevin love, Derrick Williams, Ricky Rubio, and Wes Johnson. Only one has developed into an all star. Is the t wolves or the players?

there's a huge drop off from euro to cba leagues. obviously there arent enough leagues in the world. but there is a big difference.

this. but look at a guy like danny green. dude still cant dribble but put in the right system he is thriving. wes has the same tools, if not more than a guy like danny. i think if you surround talent with winning environment, guys work harder and produce.

Andrew Bynum is a ****** bum, and he'll be forever remembered as a BUM.

And now we got people bringing up player development about players from the 90's :lol ya'll out of sync here.

With that logic, Mark Price, Brad Daughtery, Ron Harper, Larry Nance, World B Free and Zydrunas should forever credit the Cavs organization for their success.

Let's no forget Lebron James. Lebron played minimal defense and had no jump shot until he came into the league and lived through Mike Brown's coaching.

So the Cavs have never developed star players?

I'm done arguing with yall.

He's just defending Cleveland. Not even really the team anymore, he's defending his city.

Anywho.

Randle & Gordon's measurements are similar, with exception of weight.

Height w/out shoes
JR - 6'7.75"
AG- 6'7.5"

Height w/ shoes
JR- 6'9"
AG - 6'8.75"

Weight
JR - 250
AG - 220

Wingspan
JR- 7'0"
AG- 6'11.75"

Standing Reach
JR- 8'9.5"
AG- 8'9"

Body Fat
JR- 9.4%
AG- 5.1%

The biggest difference between them is weight. And body fat % show that. Aaron Gordon's athleticism will more than readily make up for him not being as fat.

How did your team do in last years draft ???

2014 NBA All-Rookie Team:

Trey Burke

Michael Carter-Williams

Victor Oladipo

Mason Plumlee

Tim Hardaway Jr.

The second team was Boston Celtics' Kelly Olynyk, Milwaukee Bucks' Giannis Antetokounmpo, Minnesota Timberwolves' Gorgui Dieng, Charlotte Hornets' Cody Zeller, last year's fourth overall pick, and Oklahoma City Thunder's Steven Adams
What a horrible draft

The nerve of these dudes man.

Got the nerve to say the Cavs have never developed a player in their career ever, but than use Andre Bynum as an example as someone who's career developed into something..

Dieng actually looked VERY good. Hope he ends being the fulltime starter in Minny. Slide Pek to PF after Love leaves.

Andrew ******* Bynum.

Did you watch Andrew Bynum from 2007 to 2012? You do realize he was the second best Center in the league after Dwight during that period, yes?
