Orlando, Fla. (May 21, 2014) — The Orlando Magic is offering the opportunity to win $100,000 for accurately predicting the players to be drafted in spots 1-14 of the 2014 NBA Draft. The promotion will launch on May 20 and close on June 22 at midnight. If multiple fans accurately predict the order of the players selected with the top 14 picks, the prize money will be shared equally by the winners.

“Guess the Draft Order 2014”* is open to Florida residents, 18 and older, who live within 75 miles of Orlando, one entry per person. Entries may be submitted at www.orlandomagic.com/draftcontest or mailed to the Orlando Magic at 8701 Maitland Summit Blvd., Orlando, 32810. The order in which the player is selected matters regardless of any team trades and the team which ultimately winds up with the rights to a player. If no one accurately predicts the correct order of the players selected with the first 14 picks, one person will be drawn from all eligible entries and awarded two season tickets for the 2014-15 Orlando Magic season.

The Magic will also host a 2014 NBA Draft Watch Party at the Amway Center on Thursday, June 26 from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. The 2014 NBA Draft Watch Party will feature opportunities to meet Magic talent, STUFF the Magic Mascot, Magic Dancers, along with Magic Community Ambassadors Nick Anderson and Bo Outlaw. Very true. The kid is special, but right now, wiggins>embid. Potential wise wiggins>embid. If healthy embid is damn near a sure thing for a few DPOYS. But wiggins has the potential to be a top 3 player in 3-5 years time, embid has a lot of work to do offensively.

IDK how much Embiid you've seen but I think you're misjudging him. His offensive game is actually really, really polished. He didn't score more because he was being double teamed every time he touched it. His footwork and touch is really really good. He has post moves, counter moves - he draws fouls. He can shoot short jumpers. The only work he has to do is in the weight room.

If this guy can stay healthy and bulk up enough to back down centers in the league - he's a game changer on both ends of the floor. Athletic and skilled enough to dominate in the post, protect the rim and play in this smallball/PnR era of the NBA.

The kid dropped 11 and 8. 11 ppg shows that his offensive game isnt "really, really polished." He was getting doubled in college, and will be getting doubled twice as hard in the pros. His offensive game has had its moments. But 11 ppg when youre the focal point of the offense is unacceptable. Wiggins and parker are damn near sure things who will make an impact from day 1, while embiid is looking at least 3 years to become a game changer.

Embiid was the focal point of KU's offense? When? Are we forgetting about Wiggins, Ellis, and Selden who averaged double figure points as well?

Dieng actually looked VERY good. Hope he ends being the fulltime starter in Minny. Slide Pek to PF after Love leaves.

This though.

Son was rebounding and protecting the rim, don't know why it took him so long to get PT on that trash squad.

Did you watch kansas games? They had wiggins looking like a role player while swinging the ball on the perimeter so they could get it to embiid in the post.

He's judging him based on his brief stint in Cleveland.

I know he is. And he's assuming I am judging Bynum simply because he was a Laker. *shrugs*

I'm actually judging Bynum based off of "player development" from an organization standpoint, as what the original argument was.

Bynum was the man for 4-5 years. Then he became some crazy lunatic with self-motivation problems. Dude couldn't accept the fact that he was an NBA player who got paid to play basketball. Dude's got mental issues, and doesn't give a damn about anything basketball related, and he isn't even 27 years old.

But the Lakers organization developed him into a fine basketball player huh...:{

Let's just end the "Cavs organization can't develop players" argument. Clearly, every organization is going to draft some bum that everyone though was going to be greatness.

It has nothing to do with the location.

Just the Franchise itself.

The teams that stay in the draft are usually bad top to bottom and have a terrible structure and poorly ran.

Cleveland
Sacramento
Raptors ( before the new GM got there )

Wizards are starting to turn a corner because they are mixing veterans with their youth.

The nets poorly drafted for years.
Not trying to sound butt hurt, but how can you judge the Kings off just one year of their new structure and management?

Going to have to disagree there, Kansas' offense this year operated in a way where no one player could really put up big stats. There was no focal point for them last year, in any given game it could've been Embiid, Ellis, or Wiggins who would get the most touches. In the pro game, he will get more touches and the floor spacing is naturally better. I wouldn't say he is "really really polished", but offensively his skills are already very impressive and are only going to get better. Of course, this is all provided he stays healthy, which is a huge concern.

.

Ok, do you remember where he was as a 17 year old "prospect"?

Did you not see how far he developed from 17, to 24, even with several major injuries to his knees? You think he just got better, cuz he got older?

Rudy had a pretty good year once he was traded to the Kings.

If I didn't watch Kansas play on a regular basis I wouldn't have been able to tell that they had multiple players average double figures. Their offense wasn't centered around Embiid, their offense allowed multiple players to get involved in the offense. Embiid never took more than 9 shot attempts in any game this season. How is that the focal point of an offense?

Tons of giant dudes in the NBA, 99% can't score in the post like Bynum could.

Bynum might actually be a good comparison for Embiid, Embiid obviously more nimble but they profile as similar types of players.

Although Embiid was hurt for like half the year, I don't think dude was THAT impressive. Granted his ceiling is extremely high but based on the past top 5 big men selected in the draft in recent years, its a huge risk IMO.
