OKC might have to relocate if both Russ and KD leave after next season

what if KD signs with a team for one year this summer and gets a 5 year with that team next summer?

The other team wouldn't have Durant's Bird Rights, so no five year contract. Just four.

Speaking of, I took a look at the Thunder's payroll; Assuming Durant re-signs for a year, we can safely assume the Thunder will do their best to re-sign Durant and Westbrook next summer. Ibaka is also slated to be a free agent then too. Waiters is going to be a free agent this summer and is probably going to ask and make between $10-14M a year. Then Adams and Roberson are eligible for extensions starting this summer, or at worse will be joining Durant, Westbrook and Ibaka as free agents next summer. Kanter is already making the pre-tv money max.

The Thunder could possibly be signing checks for close to a $1B between now and next summer. :x But more likely, they'll have to make trades to reshuffle the deck.

I really don't think he should spend another of his prime years in a situation that he doesn't want to be in, but I wouldn't be shocked being that it opens the sleep so much financially.

There has been nothing to suggest he doesn't wanna be there.

I know you want him on the Spurs but it's not happening.

Two year deal with a player option, opt out next season. Sign and trade next year for the 200 to San Antonio.

It was written.

KD was amazing this year but he's not that far removed from a really bad foot injury. For a 7 footer, that's nothing to mess with. He might want to long term security in case the foot acts up again. 2 years vs. 4-5 is huge.

Seeing how he played, I wouldn't worry about the foot. No recurring problems that we saw. Of course we don't see the medical side.
That being said, if the celtics can pull a George or a Butler, the celtics would become the landing spot in my eyes. But so many moving parts. Because depending on cap space, any player would sign with boston to play with those 2 and Stevens.

I don't think he has much to worry about, that's been his only foot injury in his career.

Yes he's 7ft but let's not act like he's the weight of a normal 7ft'er, that works to his advantage.

Unless he decides to put on like 50 pounds later in his 30's and become a 5 which would be strange/dope.

Yea if they could get PG and KD. :x :x

Jimmy B is my guy but I worry about his health going forward + he's just not as talented as PG.
