2016 Official NBA Off-Season Thread: Former Greatness

Lakers really signed Moz to 4/64 when Bismack went for 4/72.

Can't be life.

In before Noblekane comes to justify Mozgov.

Happy Lakers put their chips in too quick and didn't land Biyombo. Seemed like an excellent fit to what the Lakers want right now. Biyombo would have more trade value in that 4th year as well.

Defensive, athletic big wouldve been a great compliment to the young core
Whiteside wouldve been perfect, but he could turn out to be boogie 2.0

I'm not mad at the Moz deal just sucks that we panicked and shot our shot in the first hour of Free agency

I wonder if the reaction to the Lakers would be different if their signings were timed differently.

WHiteside will regret that decision. But you guys may have dodged one too though with him staying. Basketball just seems secondary for him.

Mozgov could have been the last guy to sign and everyone would still be like what?

We'd be talking about "what a fitting end to a crazy FA period."

WTF. Dude played overseas for years and the d league and you think basketball dont mean nothing?
Caring about basketball can mean many things. We've seen many players work hard just for that one big payout and quit.

meaning he got his pay day and now we'll see. He's worked his *** off to get to this point, i know.

All you really have to do is go by what he says.

I like Whiteside, but I can see some Bynum in Whiteside, hopefully dude doesn't implode. What's his incentive now that he's paid? Time will tell. I think Spo isn't the coach for him and their relationship will be that of Boogie and any coach he's had in Sac town

What at this point made yall think Hassan is like that?

I mean of course if they actually missed on every guy who was a better fit/younger, it would have been at least a little bit understandable.

The years on the contracts will never make sense though.

They would have been better off giving Deng 2/60 or 3/90 with the 3rd year team option, if he says no, good riddance.

I wouldn't offer Moz anything at all, that signing makes no sense under any circumstance.

They coulda offer the same money to Boban and Spurs wouldn't have matched it.

They could've offered 10 more to Bismack.

They could have signed Cole Adrich who is a better player than Moz at this point with less of a name.

If his knee is fine, it's a reasonable deal for the next 2-3 years.

The 4th year on a lot of these contracts make them look bad. Its that magical 4th year where the agents earned their pay.

but we know his knee isn't fine. They don't magically get better for guys his size
