I hope he gets what he's worth, wherever that may be.

They renounced him because his cap hold is 30 mil. Nobody is paying him that.
It can't be correct. From NBA's website:
"The basic idea is that a player must play for the same team for three seasons for his team to gain Bird rights (two seasons for Early Bird rights). It can be a single three-year contract, a series of three one-year contracts, or any combination that adds up to three seasons (or two for Early Bird)."
"Once Bird rights are established, they don't go away unless the player is renounced or signs with another NBA team. This means teams retain Bird rights to many players who have long since retired, and could still use those Bird rights to re-sign such a player if that player attempts a comeback (but not for a sign-and-trade transaction -- see question number 102 for details)."
"If a team renounces a player (see question number 41), they can't use the Bird exception to re-sign him. However, if that team then re-signs the player by some other means (for example, with cap room), the team reclaims its Bird rights."
The only way I could see them not having his rights if they renounced him last year, but other than that it doesn't make sense. Plus, why would wade ask for a 25M contract knowing there was no way they could give that to him.
I have to admit, it's hard to hate the Warriors. They literally got it out the mud. They drafted each one of their superstars and acquired KD fair and square. You don't have to love them but you have to respect how they've build their team....
There was no outrage when Ray Allen left the Celtics for the guy who kept "takin him out"
So the outrage isn't that he joined the team that beat him?Ray Allen wasn't a top 5 player in the league.
Gilbert Arenas ig post is the realest I've read around KD situation
sorry if link has already been posted
You are right, teaming up with two other top 10 players because you can't get past the Celtics is way better. Its not like one of those players he couldn't beat didn't join his team two years later. If you have a problem with what KD and not what Lebron did twice then you are part of the problem. These dudes are ruining the NBA.Normally I hate memes like this... but i did find this one interesting.

Can't knock the front office for what they have/are doing. That's what they're supposed to do. This is what Arenas is talking about in that IG post. You have an organization willing to spend the money and make the team better. You can't knock that. I think people's hate is coming from a couple things: KD leaving his team for a team that he lost to and plain jealousy lol. I'm from the Bay Area and it's funny to me that I hear nothing but "YEA!!! We got KD!!!" "We are coming for you Bron!" etc etc....but these were the same people that knocked Lebron for joining a super team as well. If you take away the tv disaster that LBJ did, it's pretty much the same move. I'm speaking from a competitors standpoint. LBJ and KD fulfilled their contracts and did what THEY WANTED TO DO. You can't knock them for that...it's up to them. I think people are just mad from a competition standpoint and well...jealousy. Lol. It's funny...when it doesn't benefit you, people get mad. When it does...you turn the other cheek lol.Normally I hate memes like this... but i did find this one interesting.

He just got the biggest payday in league history, you can compare that to a lot of career numbers for players and it will still be a big number but agreed, if the 5 Mil difference really matters then Wade should go get paidMAN GET PAID WADE! THIS IS A SHAME!
