2018/19 Philadelphia 76ers Thread: The Process Continues

If Lids have it for 50% and I got discounts then sure lol the Jah Jersey was marked down to 50 and I had 20% off and then $30 in discounts lol paid $12 basically

One of thes days I’ll come to Philly and hit up a Lids up there. Might be some good stuff to cop especially with my access pass disco

Winners and Losers of LeBron’s Lakers Decision

Loser: The Sixers
Ryan: At least from an optics standpoint. After coach and de facto basketball ops decider Brett Brown declared that the Sixers were “star hunting” on draft night, there was an expectation that Philly might get seriously involved in the LeBron or even Paul George sweepstakes. It was even reported on Sunday that LeBron’s reps would meet with the Sixers. In retrospect, that barely seems like a leverage play by LeBron; it just feels like theater. The Sixers never met with George, lost out on LeBron, didn’t get down the road with any other free agent of consequence, and are now trying to work themselves into a Kawhi Leonard trade scenario. They face the prospect of returning their core of Joel Embiid, Ben Simmons, Robert Covington, and Dario Saric, and hoping Markelle Fultz can contribute after a lost rookie season. That’s the hard part about star hunting: The fall is steep.

--------------------------

Umm...if you're star hunting, you at least take a look at the top 2 free agents in the market who FILLS A NEED AT WING.

God, we need a GM ASAP.

F Colangelo.

jimmy buckets is fed up in Minnesota. Do it sixers. Covington + a first rounder for him

Keep Jimmy and his drama away from Philly. There are plenty more stars available who are not headcases.

Depending on how Fultz performs in year 2, I think it might be worth waiting for Dame to request a trade.

Yeah Colangelo really f'd this team this summer. Who knew what his draft board was or who he wanted at 10. Maybe it changed with Brett, maybe it didn't. Maybe he drafts/trades Bridges, maybe not. Also, what free agents he was targetting. There is too much on BBs plate and looks like they slept in late all weekend long while deals were getting done. Only thing left is a blockbuster trade and hope Fultz scores min 15 ppg next season.

Brett's not a GM, he doesn't have the relationships with other players nor with agents to get a leg up, he's basically starting from zero or close to zero in the worst time possible.

I haven't heard anything yet as to who can potentially be our new GM. I am very well prepared to not land any stars this year, and that's ok. I don't want to make a move for the sake of making a move, like Jimmy or Love.

So Sixers just traded for Wilson Chandler's expiring contract. Anyone think he was brought to be a trade chip?

Sounds like it ain't L.A or bust for Kawhi anymore and he'd be open to sticking around in Philly going by what Shams said

Do it Brett.

I posted this in the Lakers thread. Your thoughts? I think he said the Spurs were interested in Fultz.

I was listening to NBA radio earlier and the host said Kawhi uncle lives in Jersey and at some point Kawhi was ok with a trade to Philly. I can see him staying in Philly if he's traded there. Philly makes it to finals with him, I can see him re-signing with them.

I’ve brought this up plenty of times. His uncle that’s been controlling all this **** lives right outside of Philly and the guy they personally chose to rehab with instead of the Spurs staff is the Sixers Chief Medical Officer.

Trading for him is a no-brainer deal. But the Spurs don’t have any leverage at this point so they can’t be expecting last year’s #1 overall pick plus more.

"One thing that's been made abundantly clear. I'm going to stress this: There's no guarantee if Kawhi Leonard hits the market next summer he's going to sign with the Lakers, period," said Shams Charania on The Herd. "I think his options have broadened a little bit. There's another team obviously in L.A. I think he'd be very much open to the Clippers.

"There's a belief around the league that if the Sixers came hard, there could be potential there for him to potentially be there in the long-term."

Because of Brown or the team? We have to nail down what exactly are Kawhi’s motives. Does he want titles? A warm climate? Play with Bron? Stable organization? What kind of team does he want to play for? Is he looking for a long term or short term deal?

I don’t think anyone really knows what Kawhi wants and that’s why it’s so hard to determine what he’s going to do next summer and if he’s worth the trouble and sacrifice of valuable pieces to obtain him.

mann the odds got us at +200 best odds to land Kawhi

better not be a ******* rental if we do land him

while hes -1000 to get traded
