2018/19 Philadelphia 76ers Thread: The Process Continues

Welp if it’s true that Dario was off the table in the kawhi talks then brett is stupid and we need to get a GM immediately

Where did you guys read that Dario was off the table?

The **** could we even offer them if Embiid, Ben, Dario and Fultz were off the table :lol

This guy bjelica, what a snake

Wilson Chandler, Korver and Muscala are really good pickups for our bench

TJ
Fultz
Korver
Chandler
Muscala

Is a realllly solid bench

Missed out on the big targets, but addressing a couple pretty big weaknesses.

Solid job by Brett & co

Fultz and Chandler are upgrades over Belinelli and Ilyasova on both sides of the ball. Muscala should be an upgrade over Amir and can move good enough to go against Horford when we play the Celtics. He’ll help stretch the floor when Embiid is on the bench too.

Korver is an upgrade over Belinelli too if that trade does end up going through. He’d stretch the floor without taking some of the ridiculous *** shots the Marco would. He also plays like a crackhead on defense and will throw his body around.

I mean, if Fultz remembers how to shoot, It's hard to see him out of the starting lineup.

Fultz - TJ
Redick - Korver (?), Zahir (?)
Simmons - Covington
Dario - Chandler
Embiid - Muscala

I can also see Fultz spending more time with the second unit since Simmons and Embiid work so well together.

Depending on the improvement of Simmons, Fultz, and Embiid while also seeing what Bolden and Zahir can actually do, I'd still but Toronto and Boston over us.

I expect nothing out of Bolden or Zhaire this year honestly. Anything they give us would be a plus. I just don’t think either of them are ready to contribute this year over the guys who will be playing their same positions.

I think if Shamet didn’t sprain his ankle the first game of SL then we would have been a lot more impressed with him than either Bolden or Zhaire.

This could work if Simmons will want to guard the best wing on defense. He can but just depends on his mindset

It's funny, at first, the general consensus was that Fultz was the perfect fit with Simmons and Embiid until we actually saw Simmons play, now Simmons and Fultz are overlapping at the PG spot.

I think Simmons can be very successful the at SG spot (if he gets his shot back) and have experiment with lineups with Simmons at the 1 and Fultz at the 2 leaving a combination of Dario, Chandler and Cov for the 3 and 4.

I also think that we might start to rely a little less on Redick to give room for our team to grow. I see us experimenting with multiple different lineups where positions will shift.

I’ll appluad Brown for getting rid of a lot of baggage that frankly just wasn’t working out. TLC, Holmes, Anderson just weren’t gonna fit. I do wish he didn’t bring back Amir Johnson. He’s the final straggler left.

And I do think somehow someway the Bayless for Korver deal is gonna get done

We better hope we get Korver now cause our team is pretty damn bare of shooters other than Redick. Fultz, Dario and Chandler gonna have to be shooting 40+% this year.

The thing is the team isn’t that much worse shooting this year. Marco may have made some timely shots and things that looked crazy but he was shooting 38% while a sixer from 3. And Ersan was shooting 36% form 3. Meanwhile Muscala shoots 37% on the same amount of shots as Ersan. And Chandler shoots 35%. I’m not saying we’re 100% better but the loss is negligible. The best shooters in the team were JJ, Covington and Saric. I’ll give up a few % points to have better defenders in Chandler and muscala vs the turnstiles of Belinelli and Ersan

Shamet & Muscala are pretty good shooters aren't they?
