He was horrid in game 2. Piss poor on defense. And that’s more so because of the back cuts he allowed and lack of focus than getting scored on.

In game one....he was much better on defense. Actually a plus on that end. Forgot what the numebers were...but they were favorable in iso for Steph in game one. Caused some some big to’s down the stretch too.

They picked on him in game two though :smh: .

That boy hutt and everyone knows it. They’re gonna attack him even more game 3 and GS is gonna be stuck cause Steph is a huge part of the Dubs game plan

DURING THE SEASON THE CLEVELAND KYLE KORVERS LOST ALL 4 GAMES TO THE WARRORS AND ROCKETS , INCLUDING A 42 POINT BEAT DOWN TO THE ROCKETS

WHILE BOSTON VS THE WARRIORS AND ROCKETS GAMES ALL BEEN CLOSE AND EVEN BEAT THEM ONCE.

Biased yet honest Celtics fan here, but I just want to see an exciting NBA Finals this year.

The Cavs beat the Celtics 2 out of 3 times this season though with the last one being a blowout 8o

I seen a lot of takes on the game last night about why GS lost.
Going off the expression “the best team always wins a best of 7”

Can an unbiased basketball fan really make a claim that top to bottom GS is better than Houston?

Even with Harden playing 1 against 5/KD and Klay on Fire/GS having low turnovers in game one- it was tied at half and only a 6 point game late in the fourth

Rockets are just the better team.

Once you get passed the KD and Curry are Gods conversation the other 10 players are suspect

Wait, so Curry is not an ELITE defender anymore?

I don't agree with this narrative.

I don’t know where the narrative came from that he WAS an elite defender. Average or above average, especially relative to the better defenders surrounding him? Sure. But elite??? Come on. Elite is Kawhi, Roberson, peak Wade, etc, not Curry jumping in a passing lane every couple of games.

The team with more talent wins so yeah the team with 3 hall of famers compared to the team with two will win.

Warriors in 6.

There is no narrative that he's an elite defender
Erupt been trolling off that Coach Nick vid for too long

What impact has he had? He’s been whining more than anything else. And he got his moms tweeting his feelings

Again he's played great defensively & has kept Capella from killing them on the boards. He's also been good at pushing the rock & creating shots for others. Dray has been decent. His biggest problem has been turnovers.

All in all Klay has 8, Steph shot poorly, Iggy wasn't getting it going in transition. These things aren't gonna continue. If i'm GS i'm not worried at all, there was nothing done last night that i don't think they have an answer for.

1) they defended James Harden relatively well
2) They kept Capella from getting easy baskets
3) A LOT of the rockets threes (except maybe PJ tucker) came off dribble, dribble, stepback threes from beyond 25+ feet & contested.

On the other end
They really have NOTHING to slow down Durant
Anytime Harden is switched to Steph he gave up an easy layup
they turned the ball over based off a lot of unforced errors

GS doesn't have to alter their gameplan too much

There are going to be some manifestos that are going to be epic after this series regardless of who wins.

So good. I see Bronsox went full Bron Boy. I see the bait. Won’t let anybody take my black boy joy. Not today. Blessed and highly favored. Absolutely unbothered :emoji_information_desk_person:

Lines have been drawn. Alignments have been made. This is the nba :hat

Capela isn’t getting his normally easy looks cause GSW is switching. Same defensive scheme keeps him off the glass, not Draymond boxing out. Draymond been ghost. Golden state had its two lowest assist numbers in the playoffs, not solely on him for that be he isn’t setting anyone up. Klay took single digit shots.

Dray just here for the cardio and to complain

Completely ghost. And I fully expect for Draymond to handle the ball more in Game 3 in an attempt to give Steph more back door cuts to the basket and get him going on the offensive end.

Nah man. We were having andiscussion about Steph curry back in '16 and someone posted a video that was literally titled "what makes Steph curry an ELITE defender." You can't post that video and then say there is no narrative

Wavy been arguing with Nick Wright in here for years now. Im not gonna let y'all live that one down.

meme is on point after his poor performances in games 1 and 2; dude is MIA offensively. but tongue in cheek or not, it's funny to see how many people are quick to say he's "trash" or "washed" just after two games. these are probably the same folk who use one game in the 2015 finals to run this narrative of "delly locked up steph in the finals." as a fan of his, im not going to rely on "he's injured" to rationalize his poor offensive performances: dude was attacking the basket constantly yesterday, had the bounce, and contorting his body in mid air but missing layups he often makes and bricking 3s. ehh law of averages tells us that he's due for his game.

Hot take: Steph's super max contract is going to look really bad 4 years from now when he's 34 making $46 million.

It may not matter, because they're probably still going to have Draymond, Klay and Kevin Durant.

Honestly he doesn't catch enough flak for missing entire playoff series like he did this season and in 2016. It hasn't mattered yet because his team is so good that they can survive without him but still.

so we running players out there with one fully healthy leg? play poorly through an injury and you're washed. miss a playoff series in which you're not needed in order to recover, you need to be criticized more. damned if you do, damned if you don't.

wait, there was a discussion with elite and defender when talking about Steph? I miss so much not coming in here during the regular season.

Is Nick Wright the dude who has that show with Shannon?

Same dudes defending Steph after 2 games of ****ting the floor are crowning the Celtics the winners of the ECF after 2 games lmfao. So fickle. I love it.
