If you like haggling, DirecTV can be pretty cheap too. I think mine is like $41 a month for a couple of DVRs and the basic package. The are struggling now so they are willing to negotiate a bit.
Not quite as cheap as sling, but you dont have to worry about it freezing which was my only complaint with sling.

I've been off of cable for a minute. No one in my house even watches live TV anymore.
I use my familys Hulu and Netflix accounts , plus the bunny ears antenna for live TV and I can pause that ish on my smart TV.
. I never have problems with sling skipping or freezing. Less then a bill a month for net and sling. Can't beat that.

Can't see myself giving up cable. There are some shows on cable I can't watch with Hulu, Netflix, etc.
And my TV is literally on 24/7. I don't even remember the last time I shut off my TV.
