2020-21 NBA Offseason thread: Officially a wrap

Correct me from wrong but no one is saying that AD is on LeBron or KD's level and no one is saying that AD is a top 25 player. Leonard is in trash, I just think the media was too quick to crown him

People were saying Kawhi was top 3 in the league this time last season. They are doing the same with AD. it’s plain as day what’s going on

We’ve had discussions about Kawhi’s all time status being tough to call because he’s been elite for a handful of seasons.

Everybody says playoff performances and winning matters but it really doesn't matter when these lists come in play. Also some of the logic of the wait and see based on bubble production is used as a demerit in some cases but as an asset in others. Just use some consistency.

AD improves on What he's been doing consistently for near a decade.... Is it really sustainable?

Jamal Murray is literally putting up Prime Curry numbers after being an average offensive player his whole career.... Nuggets have two SUPERSTARS suddenly

Luka plays SIX games & loses in the first round, he's a better player now that Harden has ever been :lol: & there's legit people talking about where he will finish in the pantheon of the league's greatest

can't take none of these clown cakes serious

Exactly. Anthony Davis's career averages during this post-season run are Right in line with his career averages he had in New Orleans. people are acting like he morphed into somebody different, just because you didn't watch and his team didn't win doesn't mean he was a scrub.

quit playin yourself, its sad

Lakers got one of the best damn versitile bigs of all time
Got a Chip the first year
And will more than likely re-sign to be a cornerstone player

meanwhile the Pelicans got
josh hart - a below average 3 and D player who cares more about fortnite
lonzo - lol
ingram - eh, just another one on one player who cant create for his team (FGA are up FG% down), just takes more touches away from zion if you ask me
picks - and I dont care about those future draft picks and you dont know who the hell they even are LOL

Pelicans got the easiest most cupcake schedule to get in the playoffs cus the NBA wanted them to be in so BADLY and they still failed, LET THAT SINK IN.

Rob Pelinka and the Lakers fleeced the hell out of the Pelicans, stop telling yourself the Pelicans are happy right now lol

Assuming this is a troll job?

Incorrect. People were saying that Leonard was the best player in the league this past season based on what he did in 2019

FTR even as bad as Kawhi looked against the Nuggets at time him>>>>>>> Giannis & Harden

Again the point is to Win it All, I don't care what you can do to raise the floor of a team, When your surrounded by adequate talent & we need you to be dominate can you do it? that's what matters to me the most.

Kawhi definitely needs to play at a similar level to what he is currently for several more years to better solidify a spot. Doesn't seem farfetched for that to happen unless his body completely breaks down.

If we are just talking about peaks though, not too many non-bigs can say they've dropped 30/9/4 on 49% shooting in a finals run.

People did the same thing with Curry when the Dubs were on top at first. Then Bron. Then switched it up to KD for the Dubs second go round. Then Kawhi. The "what have you done for me lately" / "prisoner of the moment" mentality is just really convenient for people. Especially when it's mixed in with personal bias.

Yeah, it is what it is. In the Summer of 2019 Lebby was the #washedking and people were kicking him out of the top 5. Now he’s back to being the clear cut best in the game.

Let’s see what happens next season.

Kawhi good man he just suffers from bad decision making, He chose a coward as a running mate & now he gotta deal with that..

The guy who really should be talked about is The 2x MVP who gets locked down in the same way every postseason

"Most unstoppable force since Shaq they said"

Nobody ever had Bron outside the top 5

The idea that Kawhi couldn't be considered the best player in the league after his 2019 run is asinine. 27/7/3 on 50% shooting in the regular season, 31/9/4 on 49% shooting, and a Finals MVP. Nobody ever saying he's leaps and bounds better than the rest. Just that it isn't farfetched to consider him the best AT THE TIME after that.

Agree with this. At that time he was definitely in the discussion. If we dug up posts from that playoff run of his it would probably prove it.

Alot of that to do with the fact that KD/Steph weren’t playing. Bron just came off missing a playoffs. And Harden/Giannis aren’t winners yet. Kawhi has been in the top 4ish convo for a minute. By all those factors...and coming of a championship, he’s in the convo.

We’re not talking about all time rankings or anything right now. The 4 guys that really have that claim as “best in the league” are KD/Steph/Bron/Kawhi....and based on this * Season...AD is in the mix.
