If it was going to just be Bron and the kids which is what it was looking like for a good minute then it wouldn't have made any sense to keep building around him seeing as the timelines were totally different and he alienated most of them with the trade nonsense and his play the previous season.

Anyway if they're trying to push for an early start they need to move free agency before the draft which it honestly should be anyway.

This is insane. The Lakers and the Heat are going to have a 9 week off-season. The NBA is going to try and have a sprint regular season and then ask stars to play in the Olympics?!

I don't think it's that crazy especially if they're gonna cut down on travel. 4 month layoff, 3 month season. 2 months off. Then 7 months for 72 games. We'll see how the schedule looks

They are going to need to have some kind of buffer for rescheduling if necessary due to players/teams contracting COVID. I'm sure that's part of the reason for starting early too.

Is Kawhi really tier 1 tho? Like REALLY really? He's not gonna drop 40 on you. He's not gonna kill you from long range. He's not gonna QB the offense and pick apart your defense. He's not a triple double threat and barely a double double threat. He's not gonna put pressure on the interior and relentlessly attack the rim. He's no longer an elite defender and he's not gonna shutdown your best player, if he even decides he wants to guard them, and he's not even a great help defender. On top of that he MIGHT play 75% of the season if he feels like it and no back to backs. Everyone else in that tier checks most of those boxes. He's gonna iso for stretches at a time and shoot midrange jumpers at a high clip. A monster game from Kawhi is 34 points on 66% shooting with maybe 10 boards and 5 assists. He's a specialist and not exactly an all around superstar that makes everyone better

Yep. You can’t play GM, sit out a quarter of the season and give me 14 in G7 even the 25 in G6 was below your average & I ran you for 40+ mins. Bron was basically at 35 points & 10 assists in every elimination game. There seems to be a GAP here.

And the clippers (& everyone else tbh), have a problem because AD whether he’s tier 1b, 1f, 2, 2c whatever, on THIS Lakers team he’s one of the best “Robins” of all time, which is all that matters right now.

People were saying Kawhi was top 3 in the league this time last season. They are doing the same with AD. it’s plain as day what’s going on

We’ve had discussions about Kawhi’s all time status being tough to call because he’s been elite for a handful of seasons.

But there were people sayin AD was Top 3 in the league 3-4 years ago. So what is the comparison we're making?
