The reason why Pelinka is reluctant on taking back Joe Harris in the Kyrie trade and give BKN another first rounder:

The next Klay Thompson

Remember HIM for next year so Lakers fans don't have to keep reminding y'all

Number 18 ontheway

if he doesn’t play D, then he might as well be the next duncan robinson

Under Ham and staff he will develop.

I see him in the rotation by '23-'24. Caruso, Reaves, Swider...all of the same ilk. Caruso improved his defense tenfold years after the Lakers picked him up in the SL after going undrafted. Reaves, same thing. Swider heading along that same path.

This such a classic espn segment. Like the things he says in sequence make no sense together. Says most likely Mitchell will be a Knick. He says that the Knicks are most likely because they have the best mix of young players and picks. Then he says to make the trade they’ll likely have to screw themselves over because of Utah’s asking price. Then he warns them not risk it with trader Danny (ok so what’s the point of this segment then?). All that to say Utah’s asking price is too high and contradict the segment title. Knicks already turned down most recent offer and you don’t have any news about Utah lowering their asking price.

AC is athletic though and is big/strong for the position so his defensive ceiling is/was a lot higher imo.

AR15 is stiff (pause) and this kid has a nice stroke (....) but doesn't look athletic either.

Reaves and Swider aren't there for their athleticism, although they're not stiffs defensively by any stretch of the imagination either. Being superb team defenders and providing great help defense is where they'll have their most success on that end of the floor.

Reaves had already shown improvement defensively by the time the season ended last year. Swider at 6'9" won't have to worry so much about chasing guards. He has length and once he improves his footwork he will be a legitimate 3&D for the Lakers at the forward position for years to come
