I’m going off what’s as reported prior in relation to it being consensual

But now that you posted this, sheesh, I’m surprised the town of Waltham/Boston isn’t chasing him out of town right now.

They should now just work on a buyout.

I think that’s what’s happening right now. As others have said in this thread, if they could fire him off rip and not have to pay him then they would right now IMO

IMO, they’re probably getting all their ducks in a row so that they have the proper language and documentation and evidence necessary to fire him without paying him on the basis of all of this.

Ive always found the leagues desire to do this strange.
Seems like it's totally against their interests.

you get a year of free marketing in college,
you get to delay the rookie contract for a year
and more information in the draft process.

My main issue is not making the “Unwanted Advances” THE story.

The consensual relationship part is what keeps going in the headline. That is not what is causing the problem.
Yeah I 100% agree with this. It’s nasty for both Woj and Shams to jump out and push the consensual reporting stuff when there was obviously more to it.

Framing it as a run of the mill affair is crazy, you’re right

It’s looking like a damn I’d you do, damn if you don’t situation for some of you.

You can’t say fire him but don’t leak his personal business, because it’ll look racially motivated, especially fresh off a Finals run in his 1st season.

However, you can’t just keep him, because WHEN, not if, but when, the story leaks and is made into a New York Times lead story, you’ll say the Celtics were negligent and weren’t protecting women.

As far as the contract situation, why are we shocked a team doesn’t want to pay someone who caused their own problem?

I suppose you get more potential years of service from the straight out of HS guys,

the league probably doesn’t think of the age issue as something worth fighting the PA for in negotiations

I honestly don't blame Woj or Shams for not saying anything beyond consensual initially because they probably open themselves and their employers up to legal action if proven false.

Where should he rank in your opinion?

No lower than 2. But it TRULY doesn’t matter :lol. We all know its clickbait and a content cycle reach…and we been known what the deal was, when it comes to the nba media and 30.

But Y’all will see again this year. 5th ring going to really make people uncomfortable.

Don't they normally cite "unnamed sources"? So it's more speculative than anything definite.

Seems like a way in which they'd be able to skirt around that issue.

Of course, but seems like a thin line I wouldn't want to test unless I had multiple sources and had the backing of my employer.
