2025 NBA Draft Thread

Does anyone remember if CP3 was considered a “safe pick” when drafted? I’m pretty sure Dame was.
CP3 was deemed relatively safe, minus his size. There was concern with Dame being a mid-major that not many people saw.

He got the NBA ready label. No real weakness on film. D Will was another one, some preferred him because he was bigger.

And we went with a guy who didn’t start :frown:

Would be nice to see all the “safe pick” labeled prospects from years past. I think a majority of the lotto guards pan out from that crowd. Randy Foye was one that didnt.

I feel like the "safe" and "ready to contribute" lotto picks end up busting. But that probably has more to do with them being older prospects and specialists.

Ex: OJ Mayo, Evan Turner, Derrick Williams, Thomas Robinson, Jahlil Okafor, Kris Dunn

Carmelo-Dwyane Wade, Emeka Okafor, Brandon Roy and Victor Oladipo had that label respective to their draft years and lived up to it.

Yea no such thing as “NBA ready” ...I disregard that label for any prospect

CP3 def was. First team all-American, had Wake at #1 in the country at one point. Was just small.

People weren’t saying much about Dame but he did have that “legendary” workout that folks talk about on draft pods.

Jesus, Houston has lost 10 in a row. Don't want any of the top guys going there with that ownership smh. I mean there's bad management and then there's Ferreitta

Site been trash for a long time now but I notice this ***** been trying to be different with his mocks recently. Lol at Cade and Mobley going 3 and 4.

Jalen Green seems like he routinely pulls off some James White type pickup Ish but in real games. Has that step back 3 in the works as well. From the highlights and looking at his numbers, it's def more encouraging than not

I don't know what to make of Kuminga. He's obviously a top 5 pick. Has some crazy highlights and has some early 2000's old school game in him. His numbers aren't as shiny but I haven't watched full games just highlights. He seems to physically be elite from those highlights so that's promising

Tillman fading to the background. We have 2 ambitious brothers at the GM/Coach roles. A top pick will be fine here.

idk, I'm thinking the owner aint trying to spend anything beyond the minimum. I'm not worried about the management I'm worried about there being a competitive disadvantage coming from the very top

Houston took the Nets' package because it was all about re-setting their books . They just have to wait out until Wall's contract expires or he plays well enough to garner trade interest again.

That is a concern but Houston is the only competent team in the running right now IMO.

Do we really want to see the cavs/wolves/magic/pistons/kings win the lottery? They’re franchises have had enough chances and continue to fail.

I mean at least those teams are spending, I just hope we don’t see Cade surrounded by a bunch of shrewd g league and overseas picks ups and wood and that’s it
