That was the only plan. This team was not designed to win anything. Only what's in bold ^^^^^.

Dantoni's is a good coach but he has no players he actually wants.. Idk how some of yall can be mad we didn't make the playoffs... We had no Center, the players he wanted or anything.
He's just guttin it out until they rebuild the team

D'Antoni's been a bust this year just as much as any other player who has received bad press and critique.

What we needed from D'Antoni was for him to make the most of what he's had and he's failed to accomplish that. He's been as inconsistent as the team he's coached this season. You can't separate him from the team's performance. His failure to recognize his player's abilities and potential as well as his failure to maximize those abilities & potential into more successful rotations has stunted the development of the team.

Waits for Gr8 to come in and continue on this with a thesis.

larry brown couldn't turn this piece of !#!% team around.

anyone really thought dantoni would? it was just wishful thinking. when 70 percent of the team knows they won't be back it's hard to become a cohesive unit

What did you guys expect from this team? We are not better than any teams that are currently making the playoffs.

Toronto and Bulls are battling for the 8th spot and we're not any better than them

Only thing i can say he did wrong was not give Douglas burn earlier in the season, i thought Darko could of been decent on this team

Man yuku FTL. none of my posts are going through.

Anyways, when did Larry ever get a chance? he tried and was punished for it.

this is one of the weirdest "articles" i have ever seen. one writer talking about another wanting to take his job. I can't belive these people are getting paid for reporting this "news". what will these hack writers do without lebron to write about?

Sorry buddy, but if LeBron stays put, so do you »

By Frank Isola

Are the Knicks out of the LeBron James' sweepstakes before the playoffs even start, much less the free agent recruiting period?

The Cleveland Plain Dealer is reporting that the "vibe" being sent out from James' camp "whether it is private conversations or discussions about new business or plans for the near future - is that James currently is leaning strongly toward re-signing with the Cavs."

The vibe? Is Don Cornelius now part of James' camp?

The report also states: "That may sound vague and, as always, it continues to be fragile. Yet there is no denying the gradual shift within James' circle and, it is assumed, by James himself.

James has declined to talk publicly about free agency since November. But as one source said, "I have never been so sure that he's going to stay in Cleveland than I am right now."

First things first. The writer of the article, Brian Windhorst, has now known LeBron since the self proclaimed King was a high school sensation in Akron. (Brian thinks of himself as a sensation as well.)

I've got Jerome James on my speed dial and Windhorst has LeBron. Okay, so life isn't fair. I also know that Brian has his resume sitting in the sports office of every New York newspaper and is ready to pounce on one of our jobs should LeBron sign with the Knicks.

I sometimes think that Brian wants to come to New York more than LeBron. He's a huge "Sopranos" fan and fancies himself as LeBron's underboss.

I'm guessing it absolutely killed Brian to write that LeBron is leaning toward staying. It must be true because Brian desperately wants to get out of Ohio and is essentially the best thing the Knicks have going for them: a spy on the inside working on their behalf.

But it appears that LeBron's next move will be to re-sign with Cleveland for the next three years. As for Brian, it essentially means the parole board has rejected his early release from Cleveland. Three more years for you as well, buddy.

if he was so sure he was staying he would have signed. why risk injury throughout the playoffs? who in their right mind would put themselves through suck risk? what does he have to gain except make himself even more hated in nyc by dragging out the process and making us lose a different potential free agent

I been gave up on Lebron coming here a while ago..

We need to focus on Bosh & JJ.. Or Maybe just Bosh & Camby.. re-sign lee, and hope Chandler, Gallo have a monster year.. that's not bad

We'll keep Walker,
Let Duhon, Giddens go.
IDk about Barron.

If we don't keep Rodriquez, i can see us going after Ridnour, Korver or Blake

Adding Bosh, Camby, Ridnour or Blake, is a win to me. And get somethin with that 11M contract. That possibility is not a pipe dream

edit - Do we keep House? i don't think we need him much but you know coach..

Ofcourse the nydailynews would make that, they're home of the 'saltys'...

jus give up already. why would he sign now? theres a time and place for everything. its so sad to see NYers think cause its NEW YORKKK that people wanna go there. its the worst place to be when your losing. ask d'antoni.

and we all know knicks lose more than win. its tradition
laugh.gif
its so sad to see how salty that writer who made that is.

Tradition?

Yes let's talk about the long and rich tradition of the Cavaliers, those were the good times..

No one can argue that the Cavs have been better the last several years than the Knicks, that much is fact... but don't forget what city that team is from, they're not exactly racking up titles now are they?

If I were a Cavs fan I wouldn't be trying to stick it to Knicks fans right now, I'd be focused on the playoffs and hoping not to repeat last year. What's so difficult to understand? With or without Lebron this team WILL get better and has the money to make moves and has flexibility for the first time in years.

i forgot there was a game today.

And Chicago just knocked off the Raptors out the playoff spot.. lol

Only a few days before we play the waiting game completely...

*heads to church twice a day from here until July 1st*

I dont mind keep Baaron as a backup.

Toney-Chandler-Gallo-Bosh-Camby
Walker-Lee-Baaron

I would like to make a run at Rudy too, he's unsatisfied with the amount of burn he gets.

Imagine a lineup of Rudy-Chandler-Walker-Gallo-Bosh in the final seconds. talk about exciting.

*snaps back to reality.

Rudy Fernandez, before the game against Lakers, again said to the media he is not happy this year in Portland, principally for his relation with coach Nate McMillan. "It is now new that I am not hapy for my role in Portland. Last year I was an important player for the team, this year things are different.
Speaking of Rudy, this is like his third time THIS season saying he's not happy in Portland.. I wouldnt be suprised with a sign and trade, lee for Rudy, Camby or something....
Knicks Considering Minor Uniform Changes
Apr 12, 2010 1:37 PM EST
According to a source, the Knicks have had internal discussions about making some minor changes to the uniform for the 2010-11 season.

It doesn’t sound like anything major is being planned, just a subtle tweak and update. The NBA would have to approve and Adidas, the league’s apparel outfitter, would also have to know with enough advanced warning.
Lee Knows Free Agency May Be Long Process
Knicks forward David Lee knows that the team is focused on signing a superstar, which could delay any possible deal for him this summer.

New York has an estimated $32 million in cap space and Lee will be a free agent on July 1.

"I don't know how the Knicks are going to do timetable-wise, or if LeBron is going to have a decision made by July 1 or Sept. 1," Lee said.

"I don't know how it's going to work. At this point, I''m just going to look at everything as it comes to me and let my agent do his job."

If the Knicks sign two superstars, they'll be forced to let Lee sign with another club.

New York executive Donnie Walsh has admitted that the pending free agent market isn't likely to move quickly.

There is a lot of hype surrounding the visit Dwyane Wade and the Heat will make to the Knicks in New York City on Sunday night.

Wade will hit the free agent market this summer and the Knicks have the cap space to chase a few stars.

LeBron James is believed to be New York's first choice, but Wade would be a pretty nice consolation.

"We know there's a fastball coming, and we want to take a swing at it," Mike D'Antoni said of the upcoming offseason. "It might be a changeup. Then we're screwed."

Nobody expects Wade to leave Miami, but he said afterward he'd like to be "wooed." "When you talk about free-agency, we have the freedom to go out and get wooed a bit," said Wade, aware that the Knicks are finishing their ninth straight losing season. "I'm in a good position. I don't have to worry about it." Wade flattered New York, calling it "a great city, a great place." But he also added, "Weather is a key. Mostly it is about winning. You want to make sure you're surrounded by guys that have the mentality to win." New York Post

Knicks center Earl Barron played with Dwyane Wade three seasons in Miami and could envision him leaving South Beach. "Miami is a great place, an amazing city, good organization,'' Barron said. "I know he's been there since he got drafted, but who knows. I've seen so much in the past few years, guys you'd never think would leave. I think he'd preferably stay there, but you never know.'' New York Post
Or maybe she knew what one of Wade's teammates, former Knick Quentin Richardson, feels about the chances of the Heat star leaving Miami for New York - or James or any other premier free agent playing next season at the Garden. “Personally, I don't see any of those guys coming to New York,
Barron Declined Non-Guaranteed Deal With Knicks
Apr 12, 2010 4:29 PM EST

The Knicks signed center Earl Barron for the remainder of the season on Sunday night after his 10-day deal with the club expired.

Barron has recorded two double-doubles in the last week.

"He's a guy I'd say we'd be comfortable with. The only reason we're not doing it now is we don’t know what the situation is going to be, what the cap is, what our situation will be as to how much (cap room) we have left and who we're going after," Knicks president Donnie Walsh said.

ESPN's Chris Sheridan reports that the Knicks couldn't talk Barron into signing a non-guaranteed deal for next season.

i like this dude Andray Blachte, i know he seems like a potential BIG TIME head case, but he definitley has some skills and can play center, and it is tough nowadays to find a center that young, with his versatile skill set and athletisism, he would fit perfectly here and hes a NYer which is a plus. and his contract is more than reasonable. Im also a fan of giving Randy Foye a look at at PG during FA this summer if we get better players in other positions and we cant get a better PG (basically i like him more than Steve Blake and 90% of the other PGs mentioned in here), what would yall think of a deal with the Wizards this summer to aquire Blachte and get Foye in a sign and trade?? I know theyve had their eyes on Chandler, and while i would hate to see Will go, especially after he took MAJOR strides this season, he unfourtunately plays our deepest position and ALSO the deepest position in FA, and Blachte and Foye play our weakest positions and ALSO the weakest positions in FA
smh.gif
(plus they are both tri state kids and young
smokin.gif
)... who knows? Maybe Donnie can sell Will high and even get a pick out of the scenario which we can BADLY use...
nerd.gif

idk its last game of the season and im bored and watching these dudes just have me making up scenarios, but idk i think id try and work something like that out if i were Donnie. what do yall think?

ps David Lee is a monster and i want him back in NY BADLY... honestly !@$% Chris Bosh, id rather resign Lee at PF get a guy like Camby or as i brought up Blatche to play center at a MUCH lesser cost, and than use that Bosh $ at other positions. Bosh is good and all, but if it aint broke why fix it? David Lee is an all-star, hes a Knick, and hes only gonna get better, i wanna see at least one of our dudes whose suffered with this team stick around and who better than David Lee?? People kept on doubting him saying that hed never raise his game or that hes a product of the system, etc. but in reality D Lee just keeps on raising his game and he has done so in an EXTREME fashion EVERY year since he has gotten into the NBA... you gotta respect that...

and also although resigning D Lee may be pricey, he wont be asking for a max contract like Bosh will be. If we give DLee a long term deal, we can get him at an $8-10 mil price range IMO which IMO he has deserved with his play and hard work over the years. id rather keep a guy like Lee for that contract and save an extra $10 or so mil that getting Bosh would use up, and spend that elsewhere and even next summer...
