24 Looking to build Credit... What are some good tips on your first Credit Card

I have they won't give me one and I'm not sure why :lol at first I didn't care now all of a sudden dudes are getting huge limits with barely any credit so it's not making sense

You said you requested one a year ago.

Unless I worded it wrong the last time they gave me an increase was a year ago. I have requested 3 times throughout the year and was declined since the last time they actually have me $500

What is the reason for the denial? They should have sent you a letter with a reason you weren't approved for an increase

I never got any letters only thing I was told was on the screen is sorry we couldn't approve for an increase at this time

if anyone is having credit problems look into lexington law, they do an amazing job. yeah its stuff you can do on your own if youre up for that. pm me if you have any questions

Ohhh I got that too a few times. It's a denial based off of a previous soft pull, which is why you didn't get any letters.

Try again right now and screenshot. Discover must not like your profile or something.

I've been with BOA for 10 years and I think I've only had 2 auto CLI. I went from $1500 to $3800 to $5500. I had to hard pull to get to $7800. It's been sitting there for a while. I rarely use the card though. Interest rate is 19.40%. I don't carry a balance but I think it's disrespectful when other companies regularly offer APR in the 11% range. It's been added to my "once a year" pile to keep the accounts active.

I have said it once, and I will say again, Chase has the worst customer service, AND the worst online/app experience of all of my cards. It is dated, and not at all natural to use, will not be closing my account, but once my interest free period is up I will not be using the card.

This. Im about to sock it. Never apply for any of their cards until they get these things right

BOA has been good to me, they recently raised my limit from 11k to 17.5k

Wow 19.4%! My CLOC isn't even that high.

I never looked until I got my Discover card and saw 11.24% on the paperwork. Curiosity made me check my Bank of America statement to compare smh. That's the lowest Discover offers to my knowledge. I feel like Discover is almost treating me too good.

Couldn't agree more. Every time I called customer service, I would have to wait so long to talk to someone. They have a lot of contractors over seas so the accent is hard to understand as well sometimes.

Came to visit the moms for mothers day weekend and saw a notice for an unpaid $1.75 ticket that was about to be sent to collections smh. Dodged a bullet on some nonsense with EZPass

Just copped the DiscoverIt (25k limit) for the no annual fee + no foreign transaction fee, planning to use primarily when I'm abroad.

Took me a while to realize the non-preferred Sapphire charges for foreign transactions :{
Will likely phase out the Sapphire unless I'm compelled to upgrade it (only want to deal with 1 annual fee, already have it on my Bluecash Preferred)
