Air Jordan 6 retro “Carmine” - Nike Air - February 13, 2021

I think limiting numbers is something they’ve been doing for a long time. Probably since late 00s. Flooding the market will eventually kill the demand and Nike knows this.

What we’ve been seeing the last few years is a pretty noticeable uptick in artificial demand (i.e. resellers and actual fans that buy multiples because they can’t help themselves). Nobody is really wearing these shoes. They’re piling up in basements and bedrooms everywhere and just sitting there for however long it takes for the resell price to go up. Granted you always had people stocking DS shoes but it was mostly just collectors. Now it’s everyone with a smartphone.

Its hard to believe that Nike is NOT in bed with the resell market. Limiting all these releases to me only shows that they are. Too many releases today seem far to difficult to obtain then what they should be. I really question if its about the popularity of the shoe itself. This hard to get **** that Nike is making possible is completely by design.
read shoe dog. it'll give you a look into how early nike operated. they really just want the sale, and the notoriety for the sneaker. the extra margin onto doesn't mean anything as long as they can keep selling future releases.

Threw a hail mary this weekend and went out in search of Neons. ONE big box store in the entire DMV had adult sizes -- Tysons FTL. Apparently, allocation for the Yeezy Black Reds wasn't much better. Hard to rely on small sample sizes, but wouldn't surprise me if there was some backdooring/strategic distribution schemes going on between the big box stores and the resale sites -- especially if there's an investor relationship. StockX and GOAT aren't small little start-ups anymore: https://nypost.com/2020/12/07/stockx-seeks-2-5-billion-valuation-as-it-eyes-more-funding/

I imagine picking up the Carmines will be similar to the Fire Red IV experience, but between this and the mass proliferation of bots, the manual user is basically being pushed out of the retail market.

It was the beginning of one of the greatest basketball seasons of all time - with one of the greatest teams of all time, in the greatest era of all time.

Damn man I wish all the Red colored shoes they released would be the same red they use on the Bulls Jerseys. Most of the OGs were that color and some of the Remasters but that Varsity red should be swapped for that Vibrant red.

Carmine is a nice Fall/Winter color and along with the Infrared, you could see Tinker pushing the envelope and experimenting with how far he could sway from the traditional Bulls red.

Definitely true I think all the infrared shoes are amazing with that color. I absolutely love infrared color it's such a great pop. Yeah your right the carmine is really nice. Idk why I just love that really bright red pop it's so vibrant.

I agree. The Infrared on a sneaker is like a special event. Its an amazing color to style with, also really fun.

Looking back it was the best entertainment that's since been available, in my opinion. There was a genuine feeling of uncertainty, yet optimism because no one knew what would happen next? Sports entertainment and entertainment in general, didn't get any better.

You think if Jordan didn’t step away it could’ve been 8 Larry’s?

I think 7 tops, as something I think would have happened, perhaps an injury or Jordan getting burnt out (likely) or maybe even his gambling getting out of control, which from what I understand was now a public issue by May 1993, due to a golf buddy writing a gossipy tell-all book, plus early morning casino sightings in Atlantic City, during the playoffs, no less.

It's hard to imagine Jordan starting the 93-94 season only three months after his father's murder. He was still devastated, but I don't know how his mind his mind works, in that is he the type to mourn alone or the type to occupy his mind with competitive activities?

Eight championships in a row sounds exhausting. Steve Kerr said that there was no way the Bulls would have won 8 straight. He then mentioned the strenuous style of team practice in the 90's and that they in fact overtrained and pushed things too hard, where as now teams rest more, which he believes to be more effective.

I dunno, seeing that doc, his fathers death would’ve only burnt that fire again. Thing about Jordan and Kobe is that they were so enamoured by the game, that they left it all on the court. Lebron more of a PR, guy treatin the game like an occupation, hence business moves to build a successful team. Mj out there schoolin and flexin his whole career. 99 lockout year they could’ve taken Timmy and the Spurs.

Beyond 1998? Interesting, I was thinking about 93-94 & 94-95. Yes, I think the Bulls could have won in 1999. Absolutely.

As for his Father's death motivating him, yes I think that was definitely the case when he came back towards March of '95 and won in '96.

But for him to just plow through '93-'94 and win, that's definitely up for debate. But then again, as you said he is so focused and obsessed, that he may have actually pulled off a four-peat. But a five-peat? Here is were we enter the unknown.

I just got the black/royal XIII on Sunday evening. I think these will only be the next pair of Jordans I try to get. I highly doubt any Jordans releasing before these will interest me.
I was just browsing the upcoming releases and just thought the same thing. I'm not sure I'm going for anything Jordan before these. It's gonna get ugly for my wallet in the weeks and months after these come out though. A full onslaught of cops.

I needed a break to catch up a little lol

You obviously are on here to discuss and not just give a quick opinion. Sometimes I think thats frowned upon around here.
Here is my take. The 93-94 season would have again been ALL Chicago if MJ would have kept it going. Houston would have def been their biggest challenge solely due to Hakeem. He played on another level at that time. But so did MJ the year before and no signs of going anywhere but higher. But its not like the Bulls have never faced dominate centers before. And won.
Do we really think Mad Max would have contained Jordan in a Final Series without imploding? Who was gonna check a much better Pip and Grant? Horry and Thorpe? lol. No. BJ at All star level type play. Toni being the wild card? The only thing that 94 team had as a mismatch was Hakeem. The Bulls would have dealt with that card. It took the Knicks 7 to get rid of an MJ less Bulls team. Thats all I need to say. Michael with that Bulls team at full throttle would have won a fourth in a row.

I could see the possibility of the Bulls winning four titles from 1991 to 1994, which would have put them second only to the 1960's Celtics with eight championships in a row for most consecutive titles won. But then from 1996 to 1999, in addition to the other 4 titles? When titles begin adding beyond 4 rings in a row, or 5, or 6 it becomes hard to realistically imagine. Three in a row is already a rare feat. 🎄
