One question for the guys that have the 99's that say they're buying these, Why? How could you possibly pull these out of the closet when you have the 99's setting there.

It be like owning a Mercedez but driving a Escort so you could save gas, I just don't get it.

personally i aint a sheep.... if i copp this pkg. it's because i'm not going to dropp 400+ for something that will turn to dust the minute i walk in em. secondly i had three prs of 99 iv's. got scammed for 1, and soldtwo for financial reasons. so i actually know what a real iv is like. and lastly why would you buy just to make a quick buck? these are gonna be all over theplace, especially in NYC!

These? Once fall hits...they could be wearing actual CDP IV's...but they could also be wearing authenticated variants. It'll be too tough to tell.

The problem with the shoe is two-fold...sure the shape is off and it's definitely comparable to what we saw on the Mars and Military IV...but the fact there's a $310 premium price of entry makes it that much more frustrating. I know everyone here on NT is BOC and only pulls dimes...but $300+ for ONE SHOE that would retail for $125 is tough to pull the trigger on.

You can barely give the XIX away, so they bundle it with the Black/Red IV in attempt to squeeze more money out of an unpopular shoe.

The XIX is so unpopular you might think JB would make a little extra effort on the IV. Not a chance. Apparently we're lucky to get whatever crumbs theythrow at us.

Notice how when people complain about these they don't compare them to the OG's they compare them to the 99 retro, so they are already comparing it to a shoe that wasn't EXACTLY like the original anyways. You don't have to make major alterations to a product to the extent that it ruins the integrity of the finalizedproduct. Yes that shoe is originally 19 years old and even the 1999 retros had some alterations as well, but does it make it acceptable for a company to shortchange us even the shape of the shoe? Leave the Nike Air off for the collectors fine! I understand that, but technology has improved vastly so I find itdisturbing that a company can't conform to it's own sneaker model mold to bring this shoe out 9 years after its first retro. Instead they willinglydecide to jack up the shape of the sneaker. Acceptable? Not in my book and especially so because AJIV's are generally liked.

I guess I am just realistic because if Honda decided to retro their 89 accord, it wouldn't be EXACTLY like it was when it was first made. It's a fact of life... Things change and you guys need to just start accepting it because all the complaining really isn't gonna do any good. The only way JB will change their policies is if people stop buying their products and that's not gonna happen. The fact is we (people on NT and shoe "collectors") are a small percentage of JB's customers, as long as they are making more and more money, it will never stop, just get worse...


I agree with you on the "stop buying" procedures which is why I'm not gonna get this package. But as an analogy, a product is a productregardless of what type of industry it comes from. Does Coca-Cola stop using their cola recipe from generations ago because it's 2008? NO! Have they madesome alterations to their labeling and such? Absolutely! But the integrity of the product is still there. You don't hear people maaannn...Coke tastes ahelluva lot different than it did 15 years ago.

The point I'mmaking is that smart companies may make some alterations along the way but it shouldn't be to the extent that it starts to compromise the integrity of whatthe company used to stand for which is why you have so many disappointed people with the way these shoes came out. But again...it is JB here.

Yeah, I agree with alot of people here. They look horrible. Very Easy Pass. Its amazing how JB continues to ruin its classics. I dont know how they can look atthat shoe, and actually be proud of it. I mean, its a joke compared to 99 and before. Oh well, thats money that stays in my pockets.

ive always loved the IVs, especially in this colorway, but my P's wouldnt buy em for me as a kid and then i never had the loot to buy the retros in'99.

Definitely would cop if it wasnt for the $310 pricetag and the garbage XIX i never wanted.
