There is since the new designs look nothing like the originals. I’ll give you the 31 and 32. Starting with the 33 the new designs dont even come close to the look of the originals. Design cues/inspiration yes but nothing more than that. Are you literally trying to tell me that if you put the 36 and 6 side by side, any person walking by would think they look similar? My guy, absolutely not lol

The events are cool imo, but only if they let you buy the shoe sometime around it. I sat through the whole thing last year wanting to cop and not even a chance.

Back when we could walk in the store the first week and still cop! I'm right there with you. I had the forums and the Air ship before the AJ 1 dropped. I love the excitement of seeing the flagship shoe every year. I guess I'm a sucker for nostalgia!

I’m here for em regardless, but the line in the midsole is goofy. And no 6 tongue or homage to the tongue is just a super miss.

I do wish there was a bit more of a 6 tongue on these. I know it seems to be about moving forward using inspiration from past models. So I didn't and wouldn't want them to copy the 6 - but I was hoping for just a little bit more. Although as I said, my decades of looking forward to the Jordan release every year won't be affected by what I think they should've done. Still looking forward to them.

If two bees can accomplish that how hard is it for a group of humans at Nike/JB to deliver better quality products and the retros we need. Such as these anniversaries below

I was in college back then and I swear I remember people having the OG black/reds on campus before the school year ended. And the school year ended in early May.

This is correct. Definitely had them in the spring time.

Also correct, with the white/red and obsidians dropping on the same day which rarely happened at that point.

RD varied still at that time by store, and nike wasn't as strict yet. Weiners would sell stuff as soon as they unloaded the truck.... Some stores sold early (Oshmans, and athletes foot, and mom and pops shops for sure did) some bigger stores followed Nikes rules. In those days RD were Wednesdays, so some stores would hold for the weekend too. At least that's how it was at Houston spots. Honestly don't know for sure if there was ever a REAL official RD on any of the 12's.

Taxis 12's were Late October early November (Had my Taxis before Novemeber)

White/Red & Obsidians 12's dropped the same day for sure.
I think somewhere between December-Feb (most likely January). I was stressed TF out trying to get both, but made it work. Birthday and Christmas are in December so I lucked out. I think originally Wht/Red were supposed to be January, and Obsidians were the Feb All Star shoe. No idea why they dropped the same day though. Seems like one was a FL or FA exclusive, but .

The one that got me was was the OG 11 low retros in 01'... White/Red, White/Columbia, White/Zen, Women's White/Citrus and White/Metallic Silver all dropped 4/14/01 had to pass on the 2 women's pair... Then snakeskins were like 2 weeks later too...

Blk/Red 12's late April early May.

Playoffs 12's definitely June 4 at my FA (at least), remember it was pops' Bday... he waited in the car while I went In to get them and was PO'd it took so long.

Not from what we’ve seen so far. I don’t think they look bad but it’ll take a hell of a white/black/red Chicago-style colorway and the right color blocking to sway me.
