Americans need to stay away from DR. right now.. vol. wtf is going on over in the Dominican Republic

I'm Trinidadian... My family is well known and some of my family members are infamous on that little island. With that being said, my last name could get me out of most situations. But I'm sure there are a group who will probably help carry my body if the price was right.

Visited El salvador years back... Had the little baby chain on and the locals still told me to be careful... I walked around with my chain tucked in dolo in San Esteban like it was the ave... Most people showed love and the ms13 was nowhere to be found... Supposedly they mostly mess with the locals for extortion and such ..

Just gotta move careful wherever you go...
just because people put some respect on your family don't mean much. if anything, its more of a reason to do something. also, el salvador is not anything to mess around with. my cousin recently went and he met someone that is willing to take you out for 50 dollars. if a life is worth 50 dollars for them, i would tread likely

Letting fear dictate what you do or don’t do isn’t it Chief, at least not for me, when I was younger I had a fear of flying, I had to get over that ***** because I wasn’t gonna let that fear have me stuck in the same place my whole life, to eventually die anyways...that’s the thing none of us will escape THAT endgame, no matter how much you try to preserve your life, one day you might go to sleep, roll over, fall off the bed, hit your head and boom, you are gone...with that said, yes practice caution, but go out there! I grew up in Medellin in a place called El barrio Trinidad, probably one of the worst spots of the city, pretty much the Mecca of drug dealing in Medellin...was there till 10YO and saw some **** as a kid back in the 80’s, came here and grew up in the Bronx...wasn’t a pretty childhood into adulthood years either...but I’m still kicking, i went back home on my own for the first time last year, mom and grandma bugging out, telling me not to, i went and had one of the best times, visited all my family and no one even looked at me the wrong way....who knows maybe is the naive vibe i carry myself with while I’m away, although I’m constantly alert of my surroundings that has kept me safe, but I’m happy knowing, that one day I will die and didn’t just sit idled fearing that inevitable outcome the entire time i was here.
ksteezy, I know me and you have had our back and forth situations, however I am glad to hear that you think this way. I feel that trip to europe really got you out of your shell. Maybe I am wrong but you are mentally in a good place when you that way.

I woke up from traveling by myself and live the same way now. I moved from LA and I haven't turned back.

cheers!

Conflicting reports everywhere. Radio today said he was with two local broadcasters.

I remember going to Jamaica a few years back. Was told not to leave the resort. However, if you want the best of what the island has to offer and actually soak up the culture, you absolutely HAVE to leave the grounds of the resort. One thing I’ll never do when traveling is be a prisoner to where I booked my room.

That being said, went to a convenience store to get something, and a dude in there had a debt he never paid. Some guy came from outside and smashed his whole face in w/ a brick. No one said a thing. Dude was bleeding out on the floor, and it was business as usual in the store like nothing happened.

i stayed at montego bay riu when i went like 8 years back and was told the same thing stay on the resort.. im so glad i didnt listen to them

shout out to my taxi driver ( wanna say employed by resort not sure though) but he was the man he brought me and a homie through the slums and even to the Treasure Hunt casino ( hit a lick on BJ). this dude was like our tour guide at night hitting up all the local bars etc just showing us a great time which we would of never experienced had we stay in the resort

we was kicking it with locals and smoking jbones while playing some pool off the side of a road then brought us to some strip club which was VERY SKETCHY, it was like a 6 story building but each flight of steps you had to get pass a security door and be buzzed in.. will say it wasn't the best at all lol

driver was riding out though and showed us a great time and the beautiful land

Funny you mentioned Europe, because I was just thinking the same thing, while I always been about exploring, traveling there really heightened my sense of being adventurous and simply getting lost in an unfamiliar place...not sure if it’s becUse everywhere I’ve been Europeans just seem to move different and I kind of took that in being in their home turf...in Paris one night the wife was obsessed with finding a hookah spot, she googled one and we just called up an Uber and went...ended up in some dingy district somewhere, dark as hell, hookah bar was more of an Arabic sports bar with nothing but French and Arabic cats watching a soccer game, wife was the only woman there, we sat and spent like 3 hours enjoying the game with a bunch of dudes, drinking and pulling hookah, called up an Uber and left, afterwards we started analyzing everything that could have went wrong, but didn’t and how it was a pretty random dope experience...lol

People die everyday B. I’m not any more worried about getting GOT while on vacation than while I’m here in the states. Every news headline ever that reads “2 Americans found dead in so-and-so”
I just skip past and keep living my life. My reaction is always

I got into the same mentality when I came to europe. I was by myself for almost 2 months and although I had some bumps in the road, I would not have changed it. It definitely opened up mind. It's funny you say that because those arab/turkish shisha spots are cool. the drinks are a bit cheaper and people their are somewhat opened minded if you are respectful. It's funny because most white europeans are not seen there and they prefer not to go. so it's always funny when I get the "what the hell is this guy doing here."

Well not sure if you know what I look like but I blend in well with them...lmao my wife being the only girl definitely stood out, but they were all cool.

of course i know what you look like man, you've posted your pic plenty of times  it's cool though because I kind of fall into that same category and it carries over while i have visited arabic countries. people start talking to me in arabic and I have to politely tell them I don't speak that language. they get confused but we usually just laugh it off

Apparently it was over a broad...she bad too...apparently she dated one of the heavy hitters on the island that owns pretty much 70% of the nightlife in the capital...dude got jelly and sent a hitman to give Ortiz a scare...the hitman got away, the dude they caught was the driver....he singing like a canary.

I just saw Papi in my time line last week, because he was in some instagram chicks pic in DR.

I thought it was odd he was rolling around in DR like that dolo like he was normal. Now this happens.

apparently this is what caused da beef..Papi was smashing some dude's girl and ol boy got so jealous he sent a goon to send a warning shot.
