I’m going w/clean based on when he picked up his dribblenotice how many pro hoopers are in the comments calling a walk…

But I need the MDW stamp of approval lol
What do you think ?

What? Did you make that up?That "gather" b/s goes out of the window if those non-dribbling steps go away from the hoop. Dude took like 2 steps going to the side and one forward, it's a damn travel.

I consider Harden traveling too. It makes no sense to me how someone could take 3-steps to me without dribbling.why would the direction matter? that is what made harden’s stepback deadly…as long as the player doesn’t blatantly carry/hold/palm the ball or doesn’t let their hand get below the ball, which granted is very liberally allowed, it is a live dribble and the steps aren’t counted until it is established the player has stopped the handle…

Truth be told, I didn't gather unless I was going to the hoop. But I swear I used to get calls without ever placing both feet down at once. I guess refs look at the game differently than when I was playing.harden would definitely travel sometimes because the timing of his pickup was slightly off & nba refs, before clarifying the rule some years after harden had already been terrorizing defenders with it, admitted to giving him the benefit of the doubt actually because he was moving away from the basket into an arguably more difficult shot…
once you understand the concept, it makes sense…it’s not all that different from what we always have done, it’s just the now players are taking advantage of the how the rule is written by delaying the action of when they gather/pick up the basketball, and it has always been the case that a player could take a bunch of steps in between dribbles

Bro! I love this **** . Takes me back
See a few ppl I know up in here
was this a baltimore v. dc thing?
Lol cmon now
It’s way too fast and close to tell when he actually picked up the ball in real time imo. He says its on the left foot and u can see it in slow mo but in real time it seems like that was step one, right foot step 2, jump stop is 3 for the travel. But yea in slow mo u can tell it’s fine for nba
It depends on the score and how many people waitinghere’s the question tho, if it’s way too fast to tell and someone pulls this out in a pickup game/1v1 are you calling it or letting it slide?
i’m not sure if/how/when/these moves would be applied or even necessarily transfer to in game but the awareness, knowledge, & skill to pull them off probably does have some transfer
3 or 2?
