Basically. A perfect barometer for this distinction would be a rapper(s) who has made both a classic album and a classic mix tape. The only ones that fit this criteria are Clipse with HHNF and Vol. 2. They are among the best of the decade in both fields, album and mix tape, and both came out at similar times. But if you can't tell the difference in quality between the two, taking production value and sequencing out of it, but in terms of focused rapping, then I don't know what to tell you.

I understand what you are saying about his aggressive flow but Kendrick has plenty of great verses where it seems effortless for him.
