I wonder if those that outwardly protest which platforms/venues house certain acts realize it is making those acts more sought after/desired.

Not saying folks shouldn't stand up for what they feel is right or wrong but I wonder if it always ends up the way they'd hope.

the most famous comedian in the world.
was kicked out of a venue for expressing views that are more or less in line with 60-70% of the american public.

all by a small clique of censorious puritans
and now the new thing is if you criticize their actions it's

aRe yOu aNtI-lAbOur????

i guess policing art is the vanguard of the new class struggle.

All this over a venue getting moved.

Yes, here we are again proclaiming that people who saw Daves latest special have no idea what Daves argument is

Someone smarter educate me on this

And given the statements Dave has made in support of trans people, he'd likely be less than thrilled to be lumped in with the likes of Matt Walsh
Matt Walsh rants about there being a big tech conspiracy to silence people like him trying to expose the major left-wing effort by the gay and trans community to groom kids.

As you mentioned his views on policy are entirely different than Dave's, and Walsh goes further by supporting all kinds of speech suppressing policies that targets people he disagrees with

If anyone wants to get to the truth on gender issues, it is not Matt Walsh

Ignoring the fact that people are taking issue with Walsh's views on gender issues, and how they uncut his claims of being interested in "the truth"

It is hilarious for someone to accuse other people of being unfair to Matt Walsh by hitting him with ad hominem attacks :lol

Walsh refers to trans people as "groomers". A lot of his schtick is hitting his ideological opponents with ad hominem attacks

Walsh is trying to use his platform to foment negative sentiment about trans people.

I think Dave's words are disrespectful, but don't rise to the level of dangerous. I really think the some of stuff Walsh puts out there are dangerous

I am sure you can't

Because it is easier to label everything fallacious instead of actually addressing what was being said.

Not today!

Never catch me on some trumped up charges.

Aint tryin to hit ya cup my G.

Mans got me wearing Matt Walsh t-shirts on casual Friday and drinking out of "death to the groomers" coffee mugs at work.

ION even know who Matt Walsh is Fam.

When a source of an argument is discredited due to their association with something negative it has zero impact on the argument is all I'm saying.

"Whole affair is an exercise in ad hominem logical fallacy (against the man, not his argument)."

"Dave Chappelle isn't, and has never been the issue."

"The issue is the Truth."

"When you cant beat the Truth, you end up sounding like this...."

=

Yeah but Matt Walsh though...

Matt Walsh is a right wing theocrat, who likes to stand next to fringe progressives
to make his view points seem reasonable by comparison.

his goal is ultimately to damage progressivism and the democratic party
he wants a normal non politically engaged person to think the average democrat

walks around not having any idea how to define woman.
this obviously isn't true.

im someone who is extremely skeptical of gender ideology
I think it's at best incoherent and at worst possibly counterproductive.

but

Matt Walsh I believe said no one should ever be allowed to transition under any circumstances.
There is evidence that there is a population of people that benefit greatly from transition
and trying to deny them that I think is basically just evil.

Like I mentioned, Matt Walsh also labels large swarms of transgender people "groomers" and implies they are existence put kids in danger. And the Democratic Party and their allies are trying to silence people that speak of this supposed "truth"

When we people talk about rhetoric that might result in something bad happening to trans people, I feel folk like Walsh is a way better example of that than Dave's jokes.

That is the type of rhetoric I think is dangerous because we already have examples of people falling for these online conspiracy theories and acting out as a result.

I honestly wish more attention was paid to stuff like that because that is the type of talk that creates a sentiment that could result in someone getting hurt or dying. Either through a lunatic acting out, or conservatives stripping transgender people of Medicaid eligibility (not just to transition, but all coverage)

I think Dave Chapelle is a self-absorbed emotional dude that can't let something go. I think Matt Walsh is a bad actor that is a fundamentally cruel person

Even the video posted. He is on the Austrialian version of Fox News, talking to a right-wing commentator, pushing his heavily edited "documentary", mostly misrepresenting what his political opponents think. His work is not meant to be informative or grapple with serious issues in good faith. They are essentially propaganda pieces

The truth:

At this point in time, science cannot provide a transgender / gender dysmorphic human a true solution (the body in which they were born).

Unless science can provide a means to replace human memories / transfer consciousness to another body, a transgender human will always remember what they were when they were born / know their parts aren't OEM, thus never fully transitioning.

At this point in time, nature cannot provide a transgender / gender dysmorphic human a true solution (separation of sex and gender).

Unless nature can demonstrate that there is no value to gender roles / no differences between the sexes, sex & gender will remain connected.

Neither Dave Chappelle's comedy nor Matt Walsh opinion's have an impact on these facts.

Does this mean that the transgender / gender dysmorphic humans amongst us are evil or crazy or wrong to want to be treated with respect and dignity? With equality?

Of course not.

I mean I'm still waiting on "trans-racial" to become a thing so I can be called Todd, demand a raise, and drive my car w/o being triggered by cops.

IJS some of us have a harder time with the truth than others and engage in logical fallacies to cope / feel better.

Nothing wrong with that - but it doesn't stop them from being logical fallacies.

Ask any person who throws the term "groomer" around to expand upon their thoughts and watch them fail miserably.

Recently an overwhelmingly conservative town near me came under fire for removing the Pride Month display and books from the children's section of the library. Of course people took to social media about it and the term made its way into the conversation. I must've asked over 15 people to explain what they think what would result if those books and displays were left where they were and not one of them could provide any specifics. They all either stopped responding or blocked me.

Can't imagine why.
