"Days of Future Past" - New X-Men Movie Release Date (First Class Sequel)

:lol

What exactly is so yeah about it?.....I like the fact that they don't copy the cartoons inch by inch, specially when it comes to the suits, **** would end up looking like the old school Batman movies, colorful as **** I like the subtle colors they throw in, ya really don't want an exact copy of the cartoons/comics....that ishh is beyond dated man.
i get that but when its completely changed it just losses all character. those costumes can be put into any si-fi movie and nobody would know or care. the whole "lets make it dark and super realistic" thing makes thing SUCK. its a movie about a man who can spring forth blades out of his arms yet they choose to make the costume more realistic? mmmmmmk..... im not saying copy paste the cartoon with the movie but work with the original content not cast it out :{ so far they are 1.5/4 with xmen movies 0/1 with wolverine movies using thier "modernization" approach. GIVE IT UP
:i would go 1.0/4 on the xmen movies and thats adding up all the elements of 1-3 :lol

trust me that extra .5 was being very, and i mean, very generous. how many garbage films using the same garbage formula are they going to make before they realize its just not working?:{

You guys may not like it or think it isn't working but to Fox, it is.

title = budget / worldwide box office
X1 = $75m / $297m
X2 = $110m / $408m
X3 = $210m / $460m
Origins = $150m / $374m
1st Class = $160m / $354m

It may not be a billion dollar franchise but Fox is more than doubling their budget and that is before merchandising and DVD/Blu-Ray sales. They are more than happy with those numbers.

we didnt say it wasnt we we are talking about how GOOD the actual film was not how much money it made.
we keep going to see it because we hope they eventually get it right
like transformers it made HELLA money
but the only good one was the first
and usually if i saw the first one i HAVE to see the second and third
pretty soon people will get fed up. when? idk but this is fox's last shot
they got a reset in my eyes with first class but if this movie is wack im done.
and plus everyone will be comparing how GREAT avengers was to DOFP
so they HAVE to get it right specially with avengers 2 releasing the year after DOFP this better be one of the GOAT comic movies

Well I was responding to this...

And like I said, to some it is garbage but Fox is more than happy to bring it out because people still see it. So to Fox, it is working. It has to do After Earth money for it to flop.

They would probably have to change around Apocalypse's origins or it would just get confusing for viewers. Not his birth, but more the other stuff. Like he gets infected by cable allowing him to access the celestial ship to enhance his powers yadda yadda yadda but he actually infected cable as a baby and now ive gone cross eyed.

In addition to the box office, 3/5 of the X-Men movies were well received by critics, so yeah.. it's working well enough.

Critics aren't comic book fans nor do they know the source material so they could care less about what's on the screen as long as it isn't a train wreck. The X-Men series is terrible and no I'm not a Nolan fanboy. I hate what he did to the Batman franchise.

i have such high expectations for this movie. i think it will be the best xmen movie to date. hope it does not disappoint.

whuh?

If there is anything I vouch for from DC it's TDK....your crazy for that fam.

Man if this or wolverine does better than MoS.....awesome.

I think that the climate for comic book mainstream has improved a great deal. Moviegoers are hopefully looking for story-lines with more depth and grit, which the X-universe has been known for. If DoFP does it right....with time traveling, with Bishop, with mutant enslavement, and now with Apocalypse....DC is ******.

This storyline is crucial for Marvel to be able to branch off of this and go into many directions with the X-men.

IDK avengers storyline was MEH but i still loved it

Ok, ignoring critics, X1 and X2 are hated by comic book fans?

I'm legitimately asking too.

Avengers story line was very Meh but it had to be that way instead of going too in depth and losing a large portion of their audience to being confused. I'm glad they had Thanos in there because that just ups the epic level of the next installment and with GotG coming out this will expand the Marvel universe literally.

GotG was a huge gamble for marvel and I really feel that it's that movie not Avengers 2 that is gonna be important for extending Marvel's options.

I don't care about other comic book fans. The franchise under FOX stinks. The movies weren't good and they've aged horribly.

Regarding Nolan, I hated his masturbatory take on the franchise, the lack of character development of Bruce Wayne and its overall influence on comic book films. Darker isn't always better. We saw that with Man of Steel which hes seemingly getting a pass for. TDKR sucked btw.

I didn't say you did cared about other fans. But you said "critics aren't fans and they don't care about source material" so I wondered if you knew what comic book fans thought of them. I was under the impression the first two were well liked, obviously the third was a disaster and I don't even like to think about Origins.

the dark take on the trilogy reminded me of batman the animated series. it had that vibe. to me batman the animated series is the best adaption of batman of all time. nothing comes close. when i think of batman i think of that series.

TRANSFORMERS 2 AND 3 ALSO SOLD WELL............................ :rolleyes sales mean nothing because these films have an unfair advantage over the competition. it sells by name alone. not to mention they are also "children's movies" in a sense so thats at least 2 fan pools that are guaranteed money day 1

i actually like origins. liev killed it in that movie.

If they give me an on screen Apocalypse appearance along with the guy who did his voice in the cartoon, then I may be able to partially forgive Fox for destroying all the superhero franchises I hold dear. I would be beyond elated. :o
