DC Studios THREAD - GunnVerse Begins - Chapter ONE: Gods & Monsters

Just a few weeks left before the release of “Wonder Woman,” critics were treated to an advance screening of the new movie.

So far, the reviews have been positive
. Comic Book Movie even shared a now-deleted tweet from comic book writer Marc Andreyko, which gushed about lead star Gal Gadot. “I can’t get into specifics but @GalGadot gives a beautiful, nuanced, powerful performance, @PattyJenks is SO GOOD with actors,” the tweet read.

The other reviews were quite similar.

This is actually good news, considering that a DC insider earlier declared the superhero flick as a complete mess.

According to Movie Web, Sasha Perl-Raver, host of the “Schmoes Know” show, reportedly talked to someone with insider info about the movie. The source reportedly said of the film, “So, I don’t want to throw anyone under the bus. We have somebody within our community who has gotten insider information that broke my [effing] heart this week, because I have tremendous belief that ‘Wonder Woman’ is gonna be awesome and I heard it stinks from the same person who told me that they heard that ‘BvS’ stinks.”

The person she spoke to told her, “I'm very disappointed in what I saw, and it seems like all the problems are the same problems. It’s discombobulated, it doesn’t have narrative flow. It’s just very disjointed.”

Warner Bros. Studios crashed and burned with “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,” so they are trying their best to avoid any comparisons to it. Even though “Suicide Squad” was slightly received better by critics, it still wasn’t as successful as the studio had hoped. So “Wonder Woman” producer Deborah Snyder offered assuring words about their upcoming offering.

“‘Wonder Woman’ is very different in tone and style than ‘Batman v Superman’ and ‘Suicide Squad,'” she told Variety. “We pick directors who have their own points of view, so that each of our films will have their own personality.”

Diane Nelson, president of DC Entertainment and resident of Warner Bros. Consumer Products, also shared the same sentiment.

“There’s a misconception that DC or [parent studio] Warner Bros. has made a conscious decision for all our movies to be darker or edgier,” she said. “That’s not the case. Fans of the DC universe know that there are characters, like Batman, who are darker, but there are others like Wonder Woman, who are hopeful, optimistic leaders, and the tone of this film represents that.”

Nelson added that Wonder Woman, who goes by the alias Diana Prince, is a positive role model, and her light-hearted spirit was made evident in the new film thanks to their director.

“Patty brought a beauty and a sense of lightness or humor, and a little romance to it,” said Nelson. “It’s a very aspirational movie.”

In the film, Gadot will play the titular character while Chris Pine will play her love interest, Steve Trevor. Connie Nielsen will be Wonder Woman’s mother, Queen Hippolyta, while Robin Wright will play her aunt, Antiope.

“Wonder Woman” will be released on June 2, 2017.

I'm sorry but they could say Wonder Woman is better than Citizen Kane, The Godfather, and The Dark Knight combined and I'd still be wary about it.

I'm still going to check it out in theaters because I'm a huge WW fan. The bar can't get any lower, I suppose.

I kept wondering why this thread is poppin. 'Isn't this movie not coming out for another month?'

And then I read the post above me and I see that it's releasing June 2.

No wonder. Lol

I'm probably going to watch the weekend it comes out. No Snyder involved whatsoever so I have some hope it'll be all right.

If this was another Snyder movie I'd have required ten NTers to send me stellar reviews by certified mail swearing on their souls that the movie is good for me to watch it lol

The Rocks Teases A Surprise Big Screen BLACK ADAM Debut

During an interview with Fandango, Johnson revealed that there is a big surprise in store for fans as it pertains to the big screen debut of Black Adam.

“It’s definitely going to happen, sure. We’ve had great conversations with Geoff Johns and everyone over at DC. It’s an exciting time right now for everyone at DC because they are in a process now where they are building out [their DC universe] really nicely. We have a really cool surprise for Black Adam that I can’t reveal, in terms of where we will see Black Adam being introduced.”

Eh, I can't call it.

Not a fan of WW. Not a fan of Gal and have no faith in her acting potential. Don't know anything about Patty Jenkins other than I'd smash. Nothing about the trailers got me hyped or changed my mind. Chris Pine is cool but I kinda see what type of role he's ending up in.

Probably gonna wait for the blu-ray with the extra footage DC made the director cut out that fleshes out the story better so I won't be cheated. Basically what I did with SS.

More I think about it, JL is probably getting a bootleg viewing.

Rock should've gotten a Marvel check first...
He met with Marvel way before he committed to Black Adam and they had nothing for him I assume.

When you think about Marvel heroes and even villains I can't think 9f one he fits as much as I am a fan of him. Even if we open it up to Sony and FoX-Men.

Yah Rock has a good relationship with Disney so chances are they just don't have anything for him or he commands too much money or wants too much control in his films.

I believe he had a pretty good hand in Moana and seems to be leading the way for the Jungle Cruise (a Disneyland ride) movie adaptation.

I don't think it was horrible but it could have been alot better.

One thing that was odd was how amazing tje cgi looked on thw opening scene, then how crappy ot looked near the end like they ran outta money.

Its one of those films that Everything looked and sounded good but when the movie was finished you feel underwhelmed

JL spoiler (possible plot leak), posting because plenty don't care but please be mindful of others and post it's discussion in spoilers

WW doesn't have a great villain gallery.. but I've enjoyed her character in some of the animated movies

Where as superman trying be this nice guy.. she's just a boss

I think it's early and premature to jump right to Flash being fast enough to time travel and using that as the plot device for why the heroes don't all die.

Even more so since the Flash movie isn't a guarantee.
