violence has an audience and that audience gets fed...
every city's local news leads with some negative ****.... murders, fires, political corruption, etc
its the same thing on the site I work for .... the articles with the most activity are the ones about the trouble athletes are getting in

You guys wanna point the finger at worldstar? How bout you point the finger at the people putting **** up at worldstar? Why don't you put your cape on and message these people telling them what they're doing is wrong and detrimental to society? No right, lets just blame it on the host. Those people pay ridiculous amounts of money for those music videos to be up there...so that's the real "bread and butter". But that is another story as well.

I agree with you but even if WSHH didn't exist this would still go on. To me its less about websites that racists or ignorant people will use to legitimize their skewed view of Black people and more about the lack of variety on the website. And the fact that there is unfortunately a lot of violence in the Black community.
When are we(I'm generalizing here) going to stop saying things like "This/He/She set us back xxx years." or "We gotta do better." ? The racists will use any negative thing to say "See? They are animals!" And for some reason Black people fall for the okie doke every time and don't seem to have a problem with people generalizing their whole "race" or culture on one person who did or said something unfavorable.

On one hand I do see how it affects our community because like VICTOR said people do start to associate stuff like that to black people in general but at the same time you can't tell me this whole concept of recording stupid **** to put on the internet started with WS. People were doing that even before youtube, add in the fact that everyone now has smartphones in their hand and you get to where we are at today.

I do think WSHH fuels the fire--similar to how media's coverage of mass shootings fuels the fire. You got ppl becoming famous over fighting. Unless you are a professional boxer, that's *** backwards to me. We can't just make excuses by saying "oh it's more accessible, oh it's cuz it's on the internet" we have a greater moral responsibility than that . At least I'd hope we do.

You're right, WORLDSTAR has become part of pop culture and social media culture, something anyone with a computer will encounter, but like i said, the problem can't be blamed solely on worldstar, the finger should be pointed at the people putting ignant **** online. People will watch ignant **** if they want, just like you when you go there from time to time. Some people need to let off some of their passive aggressivenes and testorone by watching, or partaking, in people fighting other people, people getting behaded, people doing all types of crazy violent ****. Like I said, point the finger at these kids and no solely on worldstar. worldstar goes, another worldstar comes back. People want to watch other people get beat up and then feel bad about it because society tells you to that that isn't right, but i guarantee you other people choose to ignore those morals because violence might be that important to them. Like I said, projecting your morals onto others is wrong because other people aren't you, other people will view morals differently than you. Blame the way some of these kids were raised, where they were raised and their parents (or lack therof) for not instilling proper morals on them.
Large sums of money can make people detach themselves from morals easily, that's why a host of worldstar probably doesn't care, it doens't affect him outside of creating revenue. Its the same for wallstreet bankers and other people being corrupt, it doesn't matter because the people getting the short end of the stick are out of their perspective.

When you provide a platform for ignorance...isn't that compounding the problem? Doesn't that amplify the problem tenfold because now instead of just simply doing ignorant things for the sake of it...they're doing it BECAUSE THEY WANT to gain some e-fame from being on a website?

What people are saying is that WS isn't exactly helping the problem...and for our people...there is no balance in the media. Where is the opposite of WorldStar? Where is the media outlet that young black men and women can run to and see representations of positivity? Where can they go and find black men that are making contributions to society that go beyond being an athlete or entertainer? Where can they find representations of black women that don't involve them stripping or being "Housewives of Whatevercity"?
Anyone brining up YouTube has a shortsighted viewpoint. You can find ignorance on YouTube...the same way you can find TED Talks on Youtube. Can you find TED Talks on WSHH?

again, those bumfights and brawl dvds were not something you stumbled onto while seeking out the latest kevin heart video. i remember peeping bumfights, but i got it from a crackhead flipping stolen movies. not everyone had access to things like that. but with wshh as a platform, ppl are introduced to these things. and it's almost presented to them in a lighthearted manner. with comical titles and such.
to say that without wshh, ppl would not fight is ridiculous and not what im implying. im just saying that it most definitely doesnt help, and that it glorifies this behavior.
