Ah, I see.

Pau is going to play the majority of his minutes at center it looks like. He and Dwight will switch on and off. So in the end, Ron will play more PF, and Nash/Dwight will get the extra shooter on the floor in Meeks.

So you saying that Pau should move to the bench has no real impact either way. Pau's also been unhealthy this year, something that has not been stressed enough. Once he is stronger, like maybe very soon with these extra days off, and then Nash gets back, he's going to pick it up. 08 Pau? No, probably not. But still a lot better than what you are trying to portray him as.

But you are right, I don't watch the games. You got me.

^ so Pau was unhealthy last season too? And the season b4 that? How is Nash going to help him in P&R defense? And if Ron is going to get more burn at PF why start Pau at PF anyway? Just make him a 5, off of the bench.

Because what's gonna end up happening is the team is gonna get burned at the beginning of the 1st qtr and will have to play catch up the rest of the half/game.

Its weird to see CP telling other dudes to relax.
A fraudulent win streak is stil a win streak  :pimp:

To be fair, he was always the one who would tell us not to press the panic button. After all those double digit regular season losses to teams like powerful Lebron led Cavs, Magic and the Bobcats; CP would be the first one tell us to calm down. But that was when we had a competent coach.

Yeah that was when we had a respectable coach who's been there before.

if gasol cant be on the court with d12.... he needs to go

he is too skilled and talented to be wasted as a 20 min per night bench player

He'd still get starter minutes, but the idea is to get Pau touches in the paint. IF phased correctly, he can be effective in the low block while Dwight's on the bench and then be the facilitator/jump shooter while playing with Dwight. That's in theory at least.

i dont see why MD cant put them both on the block..... opens up off rebounds for the other if the double comes, not to mention pau is a willing passer... him and bynum had good chemistry down there.......

memphis puts gasol/randolph on the block and its working pretty well

^then again that would require MD to actually be innovative and not just stick to his system... smh

Marc and Zach alternate in the post. Both can shoot from 12-16 feet, Dwight can't, and shouldn't, do that.

So no, you can not put 2 bigs in the post together, they can be guarded by the same guy in a sense.

The reason Pau fits with Dwight is because Pau can step out to 16 feet. Whereas Bynum and Dwight would NEVER work because they could not get more than 10 feet from each, unless Bynum was shooting 3's.

Pau will get 30 minutes a night, most of it will be with Dwight on the bench, the start of each half they'll get 5-6 minutes of time together. If they mesh real well at some point with Nash, then we may see them close games on the floor together as well. Depends on matchup. Look how many times Bynum was benched late for Lamar, that was because Lamar could extend on offense, but also still play in the post on D, and grab rebounds. Same with why Orlando was succesful with either Hedo or Rashard Lewis at 4 next to Dwight for a few years.

so once again is their going to be no answer to kobe playing less or is pringles gonna play him 40 minutes a night. Meeks was the only scorer off the bench so now you mean to tell me we are going to run

Duhon, Morris, As the backups when our backups are both 18 NBA seasons in :smh:

He takes the guy with the most hustle and will on the bench and cuts his minutes, Cuts Jaminsons minutes completely. This team will NEVER win a championship with D'antoni at the helm. Not with this roster.

7 footers with Pau's ability are rare...you're not going to just find guys like that walking down the street. I fully agree with Kobe when he says that Pau is the KEY to our championship aspirations.

Why? We won twice with the same formula sitting Bynum, why must we trade Pau now?

If he isn't playing well and we trade him, that's one thing, but to just say "well, he can't close with Dwight, he's gotta go" is stupid.

People, if there is a deal out there that makes sense, do you not know by now that Mitch WILL get it done? If a deal comes along for Pau that is in our favor, he'll make it happen.

See, every trade he's ever done. :smokin

Not a Laker fan but there's a difference between sitting a Bynum and playing a prime Lamar Odom vs. sitting Pau and playing an old MWP/Jamison. You don't HAVE to trade Pau but if the other option is playing a weak PF when the game is on the line, I don't know how much longer Mitch can wait. I do think they could play together though...

Their is no way this team misses the playoffs unless MAJOR injuries occur. but championship is going to be hard to accomplish when Pringles, is running Nash & Kobe to the ground, and is unwilling to make changes to his system to fit players in.

In his time with NY last year he really thought it was a good idea to make melo play second fiddle to Jeremy Lin, MADE 0% changes to help Amare & Melo coexist, and constantly throws his players under the bus when they dont play well

There's a report I saw from Laker Nation that Jordan Hill is on the trading block? The guy that actually works hard and hustles, really? :smh:

Metta and Pau at PF is pretty even depending on the matchup. Mullens was killing Pau from deep, Metta shut that down.

Pau just isnt the same player he was 2 or 3 years ago. He cant move as well so he cant guard a lot of 4s, hes a center now. Cant be stuck in the past.

I like that Mike is trying different things, adjusting and actually putting people where they are most effective. Whats all the complaining about??
