Derrick Rose Torn ACL...Blame Shoes

The worst part is that the game was basically finished.

This will probably carry into next season, but Im just hoping this isn't a career altering injury.

A lot of shoes can cause knee problems.
Placing blame on the shoe is idiotic.  Dude is aggressive as hell and puts a lot of tension on his knee with every hop-step, jump-stop, etc.  It was an unfortunate injury and he'll bounce back JUST as good as he was.  Pooh is a hard worker and will get this rehab done, so he can help with the Bulls push towards the end of next season going into the playoffs.

I was just trying to think of this a while ago...maybe I'm wrong, but it doesn't seem like as common of an injury in the NBA like you'd see in other sports.

I feel like he could be the new Penny, he had a lot of random injuries this year. Sad and hopefully not true.
I remember a few weeks ago we were playing Orlando and BLOWING them out. Games like this need to end early or something. Carmelo almost injured himself during that game when they slowly started putting up 3's. This game was the same but Rose had no business in that game still, that shouldn't have happened.

Looking for a opinion or thought on something I have been thinking about....

IF Miami does end up strolling to the Chip and winning it (which is looking more and more likely) will this years championship not garner the same "respect" that other championships have? More specifically regarding Lebron, because everyone knows how badly he needs to win a Championship. But with it being a shorter condensed season because of the lockout, all of the injuries and players that didn't play this year, and just the overall "competitive" aspect of the league this year, will people look back and not give him (and the heat) the credit that any other team would garner after winning a Championship say 3-6 years ago after a full regular season and a healthy core of superstars and emerging stars as well?

I may be out in left field on this one, but I've been thinking about that lately, and especially now with Pooh going down I can already picture it in my head. "The Celts were old, Dwight was out, Rose went down, the East was weak and the west was not much better. It was a shorter season and he wouldn't have won it if it had been a legitimate full length regular season" .... etc etc etc

Like I said, may be out on this one, but I have been thinking about it and Rose going down is just another thing that changes the dynamics. Thoughts?

SIDENOTE: Feel bad for DRose. I really do wish him the best of luck in getting healthy. Unfortunately, I don't believe he will ever be able to reach the heights he could have but there is still hope that he can do great things.

Blake Griffin doesn't drive and cut constantly like Rose though

I just hope he get 100% back but im not sure if his game will ever be the same. The Bulls would never be the same if Rose loses his ability/confident to take it to the rim . A 6'2 jumpshooter point guard is not a good look

The Rose adizero shoes have insufficient cushion and poor support imo

Tmac wore Adidas and was bothered by constant back/knee injuries through out his career.

Now it's eric gordon, rose turns

Isn't Petrie on NT? What a %*%@%%% dickhead. Anyone who uses another man's injury to promote themselves and their brand can go duck a sick.

I didn't say it was 100% the shoes fault. But you're ignorant if you don't know that certain shoes/ cushion can increase the chance of knee injury.

Do some research

no everyone have the same chance.. lebron is in the MVP talks, if he is putting up those #'s and still staying healthy with the condensed season i dont see why it would be a knock on him or the heat...

Never said you did, fool.  He could have had the most cushioned/supportive shoe, and STILL torn up his knee.  Placing the blame on the shoe is moronic.

Yea, towards the end of last season. He was back for the the first game of this season. Hopefully it's the same for Rose.

I absolutely hate reebok & adidas but shoes weren't the culprit (even though I'd like to think so). Greg Oden's had nothing but trouble with both knees & he's been rocking Nike from day one. Tiger's had knee problems too, will never be the same golfer again & he's been with the Swoosh from jump.

Hope Rose get's better fast. Maybe he should sync up with Kobe's guy over in Europe....Get well soon D Rose...

Definitely, a lot of people will be quick to say that. LeBron's ring won't even matter to the analysts. He didn't go against last year's MVP and the #1 seed. Like you said, Celts old, Dwight out, Pacers and Sixers are not playoff material.

Do you guys feel the Spurs first championship is less because they played a lockout shortened year? Some fans & even sports writers might, but I won't. It's still a pretty big accomplishment.

Lol no he wouldn't tore up his knee if he had better shoes. The rose 1.0, 2.0 and 2.5 is purely made of EVA cushion . Given Rose aggressive up and down style of play . Playing in Eva cushion for 3 seasons will take a hit on your knee overtime. Look at the highlight . It was non contact injury . He landed directly on the floor with "his shoes"

You can't be serious.  First of all, YOU DON'T KNOW THIS.  I love how you give your !@#+%*% opinion like it's fact.  Second of all, we'll also not factor in that he's probably overcompensating on his left leg in the wake of all the injuries he's suffered this season.

Tuff one for the Bulls to be honest its gonna be a lil harder next year because the Heat gonna have them Pg which the the bulls had a ridiculous advantage on the heat but i feel bad for the bulls fans
