Derrick Rose Torn ACL...Blame Shoes

Adidas suck, so it's possible the kicks contributed to D. Rose's injuries, but we have no way of knowing that for sure. It's also possible the dude is just injury prone, and he may also get hurt more often because of his kamikaze, take-no-prisoners, style of play. The guy plays like every game is his last, and even though I'm no Bulls fan, I respect him for that.Because Rose's game is based on speed and cutting, it's possible he'll never be the same after this injury. An ACL blowout is no joke. And because of that, JP should have kept that tweet to himself. It's never cool to kick a guy when he's down. But hopefully D. Rose can bounce back like my man Adrian Peterson. The dude is already running wind sprints after blowing out his ACL, MCL and meniscus in December!

But with it being a shorter condensed season because of the lockout, all of the injuries and players that didn't play this year, and just the overall "competitive" aspect of the league this year, will people look back and not give him (and the heat) the credit that any other team would garner after winning a Championship say 3-6 years ago after a full regular season and a healthy core of superstars and emerging stars as well?

I may be out in left field on this one, but I've been thinking about that lately, and especially now with Pooh going down I can already picture it in my head. "The Celts were old, Dwight was out, Rose went down, the East was weak and the west was not much better. It was a shorter season and he wouldn't have won it if it had been a legitimate full length regular season" .... etc etc etc

Like I said, may be out on this one, but I have been thinking about it and Rose going down is just another thing that changes the dynamics. Thoughts?
Definitely, a lot of people will be quick to say that. LeBron's ring won't even matter to the analysts. He didn't go against last year's MVP and the #1 seed. Like you said, Celts old, Dwight out, Pacers and Sixers are not playoff material.

Do you guys feel the Spurs first championship is less because they played a lockout shortened year? Some fans & even sports writers might, but I won't. It's still a pretty big accomplishment.

If they would have never won another championship then I think history looks at that 1999 championship MUCH differently.  So if the Heat win this year, they will need to win at least one more for that "cheap" feeling to fade among many analysts, critics, and fans.  But make no mistake, that sentiment will be prevalent until that time (if it happens)...

Adidas needs to address their poor performance technology in their sneakers...just terrible!!! Dwight Howard, Chauncey Billups, D. Rose and Shumpert all Adidas athletes smdh!!!

Feel bad for Shumpert too. He had an incredible rookie season. To go out like that is just terrible. He's a tough kid, he'll bounce back.

LOL are you this slow ? i said the shoes isn't 100% at fault. If he had better shoes he wouldn't have this injury. Get that through your small head

Die hard Bulls fan checking in. Honestly the worst day of my life thus far. I seriously thought it was our year. This is literally a nightmare for me and i can't believe this happened to us Bulls fans. I don't think our depth is going to help us beat Miami. It's hard not be be cynical after we lose our star player. Our faith rests in CJ Watson and John Lucas III's hands. Pray for us please.

pissed off bulls fan here

slow mo, it looked nasty

i hope he can make a complete recovery

Shoes not at fault, but he wouldn't be injured if he had better shoes.

You really are as dumb as a rock.

See thats kinda how I see it playing out. Not that it is true or correct, but being true or correct rarely means anything anymore. Bron won't fully receive the credit/recognition he is searching for until he wins another one.

That is just how it looks like its gonna be

C'mon guys, let's be real here. When in history has someones title legitamacy been in question because of opposing team injuries or absenses? Y'all gonna put a * next to their title because Rose got hurt? Laughable.

Only reason you dudes are discussing this is because everyone hates LeBron.

He said the shoes aren't COMPLETELY at fault, but had he worn better shoes the injury probably wouldn't have happened. You both know what dude was trying to say anyway.
But I really don't think it was the shoes.

If he had worn better shoes the injury wouldn't have happened = the shoes he wore today were the cause of injury.

im a Chicago fan who is hurt but like I stated in the other threads this isn't the 90s or early 2000s. ACL injuries are no longer career enders at all. All the athletes that you guys speak of never being the same again didn't have the capabilities we have today. In recent memory the only person is gilbert arenas and that was a mcl in which he rushed back twice. Yes it hurts but he will be fine maybe stronger. One thing that must be noted though rose needs to train with tim grover he already in chicago, this is the guy that can bring rose back 100%

^Grover ain't gonna let no Adidas dude come work out in his gym
