Dressing Better Vol 2.0

Nice fits Steezy and Adrian

Need some help guys.  I am going to Vegas for a week at the end of March.  This is my first time traveling since I started dressing better.

How should I pack?  What type of clothes should I bring?  How many pairs of shoes?  I don't want to trash the AE, so should I buy some beaters to take?

Any tips on gambling, shopping, food, sights, shows, etc. is appreciated.  I will also be checking out the vegas thread.

The way I would pack for Vegas would be

-two suits
-4 shirts
-2 polos
-2 pairs of jeans
-1 pair of low profile kicks
-1 pair of shoes
-buy some Hanes 5 pack vnecks
-pair of cargo shorts
-1 pair of regular shorts

Flip flop between pieces, kind of how we doing with this challenge

You can wear the suit jacket with a polo shirt and the jeans, Full on suit, button downs sleeves rolled up with cargos, tee and shorts, tee and jeans, the combinations are plenty.

Being there a week I would add in one more pair of nice shoes you can wear to the club and probably one more pair of jeans. That way if anything gets thrashed on a wild night, you still have some options to choose from.

I can't imagine wearing a suit in a hot @#$ club like TAO :x

Definitely not but in March it's not hot yet so you can get away with a suit at outside tables at XS, Marquee, Surrender.

I would only rock a suit in a club if I had a table, otherwise too many drunk sweaty people bumping into you and potentially messing up your suit

Bama- ill make a little list later or ill PM you.

Ricky- you can get a decent suit for $300 at Nordstrom Rack, I have a CK suit that I bought for about $175 (sale). Granted tailoring, pushed it near $300. Are they the best, no, serviceable, yes. Also, I'm a fan of Banana Republic suits, and can usually be had from $150-200 if you stack your coupons right. Again this isn't factoring tailoring.

Thanks, I appreciate it.  Do you all think full suits are a must?  I may just do blazers and trousers/chinos

*e-dap* finna head to banananana republic right now.. i need some coupons doe...

Had mine today and yes I say suit. There were some people in just a shirt and tie, but that doesn't look very professional to me.

Going to follow up with a recruiter tomorrow and he's showing me around the new campus they just built :pimp:
that's what i'm thinking...

i dont know how these career fairs work doe... i always thought it was just a bunch of folks throwing resumes around and nothing getting done.

i've never heard of anyone getting a cool job from a career fair. :frown:

You can get a suit for 300$ I just don't know how well fitting it'll be OTR

As far as what you should wear?...well that's all on you bro, first and foremost dress for yourself, but know that a suit will make you stand out in a positive way, not only a suit but a well fitting one...at the end of the day I'm sure people are gonna be on their Choppa suit steez and no one will really care as long as they have dress shoes, a shirt and tie...so like I said, dress for yourself and how you want to perceive yourself.
word...

i'm trying to go on some modern day, hunna millie swag... to the point when they see me they think "yeah... he on... :pimp:"

I need a recomendation on where to go look for some wingtips! Or any type of dress shoes! Next Monday we start dressing business casual at work...id say my budget is 150$ max...looking to spend 200-350 on shirts n pants this weekend too...tough time around here as im moving into my own place anddd need to step up the wardrobe

Those first pair of pants are really nice, info?

Btw it's not that bad to rock a light suit to TAO or any club lounge, the suit pants are thinner than most pants you can wear as it is, the only thing that can make you warm might be the jacket, which often times comes off.

With all the throwbacks, I think there should be throwback Thursdays. Everybody submits there throwback pics.

Since dressing better is different for each person, its great way to see where everyone is coming from.

Ricky, look into Express, try their photographer fit, it might just fit you perfect OTR and if you catch a sale or promo you can have it for a little over 150$

A full suit is a just in case thing for Vegas. People dress up a lot out there. Also you can split the pieces up.

A full suit is far from a must out there. Most people just rock jeans and a button up. A blazer is a nice way to distinguish yourself from the masses

Yeah a suit os not something you'll need in Vegas, I just think it looks the best, specially clubbing big time in LV...I always think bak to that Diddy Ciroc commercial with all the celebs and think that's how Vegas should be done

Bros I have to present at a psych conference at teachers college at Columbia U next Friday. I need a quick outfit to pick up for )200

Dudes:

I was secretly holding a contest with the before and after pictures. I didn't want to announce it due to the nature of the last contest. I accounted all those who posted before pictures as well as how they are dressed now (at some point in the thread).

I think the unanimous champion is Adrian. I will send him his gift of a Platinum Fubu suit and a DADA peacoat.

 all jokes aside I will mail him something nice.

Carlin, regarding Vegas...definitely keep it simple. Get a navy suit if you don't already have one just simply because you can break it up. The odds of you wearing the suit, especially in that heat are slim but at least you have the jacket just in case you have too or want too as the casinos are pretty damn cold. I went this summer and it was bad...assuming you're going for 3-4 days, I'd take some khaki chinos, the blue trousers from the suit, dark denim, white shirt, 2-3 short sleeve shirts or polo shirts, low top sneakers and brown dress shoes, the JCP Stafford as was recommended for the price and to get them beat up is your best bargain.

Personally do not buy black dress trousers, you'd be surprise how it actually limits what you wear. Go for charcoal, you can wear black or brown shoes.

You're going to be at my Alma Mater! First question is what do you already have that you can put together in terms of trousers, shirts and shoes?

If you already have some navy or charcoal trousers, pair it up with a white shirt and a gray, navy or light violet tie. I would pair it up with a navy cardigan or v-neck if you go with charcoal/gray trousers, or a gray cardigan or v-neck if you go with navy trousers. Personally go with the cardigan.
