I love HOV and appreciate his charitable work. But I have an issue with these dudes and their luxury rap.
You know how powerful your words are to the same dudes who were kids when you started off, the same dudes who were in Marcy, Whitman, Tompkins, Ingersoll, Brevoort etc when
you left listening to you and you talk so much about these high end brands that cost much more than rent is in the hood, Its not a good message to project to the people that are
looking to emulate you the most. He really needs to target those who buy his music. How you going to rap to the 99 percent about things that the 1 percent does/ can afford to do?
Its not even endearing to make you push yourself to reach those accolades to be able to afford those things. Its just bragging at this point.
He lost me... And this is coming from a dude who was 9 years old and saved his money so that I could have someone go buy Vol 1. for me because I couldn't go buy it myself.

Just go to any upscale mall, trust meI don't "hate" on Jay at all. I have a lot of his music in my library. I think the slurping is ridiculous though. He's no different than anyone else that made it.
Exactly what I'm trying to say. And on top of that, there are better examples of rags to riches. Like I said, look on the Forbes list, lot of folks with way more net worth than Hov. Stop putting him on a pedestal.
