I have a question for people who are for banning assault weapons for civilian use. I actually agree with it and am for banning certain mods and certain capacity magazines. Also I'll preface by saying assault rifles are higher cal with select fire (auto, burst, single).

Are these the only kind you want banned? Do you feel lower cal (.22, 9mm) semi auto rifles are okay for personal use, collections etc? They're essentially long powerful pistols. It can be argued that they can be converted but the cost basically outweighs the benefits so it's not practical.

Also keep in mind AR or AR-15 style does not mean automatic rifle or "assault rifle".

The AR-15 platform, with just the lower being defined is a huge issue for me. Why is it that only the lower of considered the firearm?

The problem with complete "freedom" in this country is that it gets routinely abused by an American population that isn't deserving of or capable of handling that type of freedom. Bans might not entirely fix the underlying issue, but it's gotten to the point where there's too many trash and mentally deranged people on this country, so might as well do the most you can from allowing them to act on their sick thoughts in public.

I think you'll have to ban them all. Or do strick background checks .... if something like this happens investigate the store that sold it and make sure all paperwork .. psychiatry checks have been performed ... if something is off, they shut down the store and psychiatry .

I halfway agree with this. 1000000% support psychiatric evaluation and longer waiting period for weapons in most cases. Certain people like victims of domestic violence who have filed with police and have orders of protection or military should have a bit of leniency. But with DV victims and anyone else buying a safety course should absolutely be mandatory prior to purchase. Definitely stricter background checks and something to fix the gun show loophole which is absolutely crazy.

I think holding sellers more accountable could possibly be a good idea also.

A. We need to make it more difficult for people to legally acquire guns

While also believing

B. If someone wants to go Rambo, they will do so

I agree. But I don't think that believing option B is a valid reason to convince me that we shouldn't look at gun control.

And that seems to be the prevailing defense or argument when gun control comes up.

Three things, 1. I find it really strange that the majority of white christian males, could really care less about these constant mass shootings,where the shooters are white.

2. Lately since his appointment in office super tragic events happen that cover up the craziness that happens surrounding Trump. Mainly mass shootings/ terrorist attacks/or natural disasters.

3. It's pretty clear that white christian males are the most dangerous domestic terrorist American has seen.

I know for a fact that the Maplewood MN wasn't really a "school shooting".
A dumb cop was sitting on a chair talking to someone and a third grader walked up and pulled the trigger while it was in his holster....
knowing that, it makes me wonder how many of the other cases were actual school shootings as in a person opening fire on civilians.
