At this point it isn't a government police state that you have to worry about. Everyone keeps checking the "I agree" box on terms and conditions, So its the corporations that will be writing their own laws if they're smart enough. Government doesn't want your farm... Monsanto does. Government doesn't care about your piracy... your internet provider does. Government doesn't want your clean water.... Coca Cola does. You dont need the second amendment to start a rebellion. The US military would decimate any state formed militia anyway. But against a corporation, the government has to choose corporations or people. Losing net neutrality doesnt bode well for the future.

They aren't picking people off from 100 yards.

The whole idea of arming teachesr is nonsense. Let's say you arm teachers with handguns, fine ok. They go to the range for a few hours and let off a couple of magazines to get a firearms qualification, ok fine. Here is where the logic takes over.
Firing at a stationary paper target is not the same as firing at a live, moving target. A stationary target is not firing back at you. Unless these teachers develop procedures and regularly take part in actual exercises and simulations where an active shooter is in the school, they learn how to form fire-teams to have top and rear cover, can communicate without talking and giving away their position, are able to quickly identify their target so they don't shoot the wrong person, are able to don themselves with protective gear, all while hundreds of people are running in all directions, they will just get themselves and other people killed. Everyone is brave with a gun until they are under live fire.
Trump, the republicans, and the NRA are lot of greedy, money hungry fools who could care less about teachers OR kids.
