FOOD THREAD VOL. GRUB LIFE

Sheeeeeet, my wife & I along with our neighbors had steam crabs & steamed shrimp almost every week from spring to late fall. Sometimes twice a week.

I love seafood. I need more orange roughy in my life...

I could go for a church dinner in a styrofoam container with some fried catfish, Mac & cheese, some potatoes salad or green beans, & a piece of cornbread...

 @ Not hearing about toasted PBJ

But yea, I prefer it non Toasted. Love the chewiness of bread vs. Crunchiness of toast

Also, shoutout to all the NonToasted PBJ dudes.

Trader Joes Crunchy
Trader Joes Strawberry Preserves

PB on both breads
About a 3/4 tablespoon of preserves

I just want a hint of sweetness, nothing more. Probably a 2.5/1 PB to preserves ratio

I don't really know what that means. Salmon and fried catfish and snapper is all I need. Everything else is whatever
You NEVER heard someone say, "I don't like fish that tastes fishy?"

Usually those people only eat Salmon and maybe Snapper (Grilled).

You do Sushi?

I've heard of it. I just don't know what it means. Shouldn't fish taste like fish?

Never tried sushi. I'm cool on it.

That is ALWAYS my response. What IS fish supposed to taste like? It is dumb to me too.

Never tried Sushi? Not even California Rolls?

I believe I tried a California roll before but I didn't know if that was considered to be authentic sushi

Eating California Rolls and calling it Sushi is like a Black person liking 2003 Linkin Park and claiming you like Rock.

I mean it CAN be a bridge but it ain't the real thing

American cheese was a must. Caramelized onions spread like jam and the special sauce set it off.

Aww damn jj... White bread!?!?! You get that from Target don't you. To each his own...

I gotta have at least a multi grain of some sort. A relative of mine once made me a pb&j with cinnamon raisin bread. It was actually pretty good but not something I'd do again (but I wouldn't refuse another one).

I'm pretty flexible about tuna fish though, just as long as it's not overly mayoee or overly mustardy, etc. I always judge a deli on how good they are based on how good their tuna or chicken salad samich is. If they make that right, then I know the deli should be ok.

This samich talk got me jonesing for a good shrimp salad samich...

Edit - I do like egg salad to be a bit on the mustardy side though with bits of relish.

Man, Arnold white bread is CRACK. No, it's not healthy at all...but it's fantastic for all sandwiches :lol

(yes, Target :lol )

Coming through with the heat, as per usual.

How was Turkey and the Wolf? Probably gonna be taking a vacation down to NOLA this winter and that's on my list.

pretty good man kinda overhyped for just a sandwich type shop... my fave spot in NOLA is Shaya tho bomb Mediterranean.

Lemme know if you want any more recs

Not a beer snob, but of all the bad beers, heineken is the least worst .

I see people sometimes change on their core with milk and meats. As I age on I peeping that about myself too

Me too. My stomach can’t take dairy anymore and tbh I’m fine with it. Same with red meat, never been too big on it but now I eat it even less. I stick with chicken
