Didn’t get to New Haven til like 4:45 yesterday and Modern already had a line out into the street. Decided to grab a couple pies to go from Da Legna (no white clam here) instead to take to my cousin’s so I could see her new baby. Good as hell. Very thin with great CHAR ( DCAllAfrican ).

Cousin had this beer from some local brewery in CT. I mess with the Double Dare vibes. Mark Summers was the man.

Yea it looks weird. First time trying this brand.
"Southern style " potato salad from bjs.

Very tasty but I prefer the texture of publix "Southern style" potato salad.

It's very good tho.

Had a slice of multi grain toast

It's light and dense at the same time
Chewy but in an inviting way, very approachable.
It's a very humble dessert. Very honest
The chocolate taste isn't overwhelming and is very pleasant.

Theres eggs and potatoes, pretty much it.
The southern style potato salads down here in grocery stores are actually tasty imo.

Publix version is super popular.

Vegetable broth, coconut milk, curry powder, ground red pepper

Recipe calls for me to add a slurry of more broth and flour towards the end to thicken it up.

Funny, I was thinking that slice WITH the cheese looks like it has too much cheese. (For me).


There is a Deep Dish spot near me, District of Pi, I ask them for 50% Cheese because the normal serving is SO much cheese.

Same if I am in Chicago (Deep Dish, I say hold the cheese)

But a lot of cheese isn't something I crave when eating pizza.

I prefer a house mozzarella vs. shredded. I don't mind missing pieces of flesh without cheese and usually, places that use shreaded mozzarella overdo it.
