Come to think of it steak really is on the extremes. I’d never get a ribeye at chili’s or any chain like that, I can cook a better one myself. A good steakhouse that uses top quality meat and dry aging and has their own touches will own my 9 oz supermarket ribeye any day lol.
I don't know what options are like around your way, but I have 2 spots where I can get great dry-aged cuts and 2 waygu plugs.

I'll buy a grass-fed ribeye from Whole Foods in a pinch, but I have 2-3 great butchers within a 20 minute drive that have the goods.
 
Looks like it will be steak again for the in laws birthday next week :lol:

Last one was at Luger's.

I'm a broke boy, wagyu is off the table lol but one day I need to get some legit A5

When I buy ribeyes im getting it from ralphs/albertsons. Whole foods is pretty far from my spot. Are you talking about mom and pop butchers/meat markets...?

Yeah. I have one spot that has really nice regular cuts along with some waygu, one spot that has great everything (regular cuts, dry-aged, and the occasional waygu), and one Asian grocery store that will special order waygu for you.

I’ll take a home cooked ribeye or strip over any Atlanta area steakhouse all day any day.

Have not been blown away by a steakhouse in years.
This is how I feel.

Throw it on the grill and call it a day.

But again, we pay for the experience
 
Now that I think about it, I don’t believe I’ve ever had to foot the whole bill for a meal at a steakhouse. Either someone else paid or I had a gift card that covered most of it, so I’ve been lucky.

They’re great, but would not be my first choice if I had to cover the meal 100 percent.
