Currently have a shun premier chefs knife. It’s really sharp and def a nice knife but I want to add a Santoku style blade soon.
 
Tojiro or mac is my next knife, but get a victorinox chefs knife, great first decent knife that can take a beating. Good to have too if you eventually move on to better knives and have family like mine that don't give a **** about knife edges.

Still using my Cutco knives from damn near 20 years ago.

I will upgrade eventually.

Once I become a master fisherman like mplsdunk mplsdunk , I will invest in a CHef's knife.

you only need a chef knife and boning tbh.

I never use anything else. Check out Korin for some exotic knifes.

mine is a suisin carbon steel I got off there. Great knife for the price. Carbon steel knives >*

get a knife where the angle of the cutting edge is biased for left or right handed. They are way sharper.
