Rumours Of A New Fantastic Four Movie From Fox. You Know, For Kids.

Bleeding Cool is receiving reliably sourced information about a new Fantastic Four movie being developed at Fox Studios. And while the most recent movie reinvented the Fantastic Four as youngsters, along the lines of the Ultimate Fantastic Four comic book, the movie swings to the other end of the spectrum. Instead, it will concentrate on Franklin and Valeria, the children of Reed Richards and Susan Storm. While still having the Thing and the Human Torch along for the ride.

Indeed, the whole movie will be kid-centric with a vibe far more reminiscent of The Incredibles. In an instant, this will totally separate the movie from the previous failed attempt. But also mean there’s no actual need for a reboot. And, yes, we know this is full of generics. So how about something specific? Go on then.

The current draft of the proposed new Fantastic Four movie is written by Seth Grahame-Smith.

He is best known as the author (okay, co-author) of the novel Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, as well as Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter, both of which have been adapted as movies. Grahame-Smith is also the co-creator, head writer and executive producer of The Hard Times of RJ Berger, a TV comedy series on MTV.

But he also did some script polishing on the Josh Trank movie.

He has some Marvel comic book chops too — he wrote The Spider-Man Handbook: The Ultimate Training Manual, an examination of Marvel Comics’ Spider-Man, with an introduction by Stan Lee. And the Hulk issue of Marvel Zombies Return with artist Richard Elson.

As part of the deal done during Marvel’s bankruptcy in the nineties, Fox Studios have the license to make Fantastic Four movies as long as they keep doing so. This is something that has caused the current Marvel executives considerable displeasure, to the extent that they cancelled the Fantastic Four comic books, and licensing for T-shirts, posters, calendars, toys, games, cards and statues as a result.

I get the feeling that this isn’t going to make them any happier.

I wonder if the dudes still claiming F4 is gonna show up in the MCU are gonna try and spin this or claim its more lies :lol:

Dark Phoenix: Dazzler will appear in the upcoming X-Men film


EW can confirm that mutant pop star Dazzler, who not only can sing and dance but also manipulate light, will appear in Phoenix.

Fans might remember that X-Men: Apocalypse actually had a deleted scene where Jean Grey (Sophie Turner) and Scott Summers (Tye Sheridan) came across Dazzler’s album at a mall record store. Turner revealed the shot on her Instagram page. Turner also made a 1989 reference which led folks to think that this image of Dazzler was Taylor Swift (the scene was ultimately cut from the final film).

Casting notices for Phoenix hit the Internet weeks ago with several parts open for new actors including one that sounds like Dazzler.

For Phoenix, EW has learned Dazzler will pop up but only in a small role and there is no plan at the moment to have Swift play her.

The Gifted premiere date is set for October 2 9pm.

The Gifted tells the emotional story of a suburban couple whose ordinary lives are rocked by the sudden discovery that their children possess mutant powers. Forced to go on the run from a hostile government, the family seeks help from an underground network of mutants and must fight to survive.

Even if Fox really is making an F4 children's movie, that could still happen and Fox could have the F4 in the MCU. Similar to Sony releasing an animated Spider-Man film in theaters next year while we have Spider-Man in the MCU. Everyone just be patient..

Tell us more about the Fantastic 4 coming to the MCU. There's 4 of them and it's Phase 4, so there's already an under the table handshake deal between Marvel & Fox, right?

If you ask yourself how Fox all of a sudden got television rights to Xmen and then realize that the same film Fox and Marvel worked a deal for (Guardians 2) is the same film where we got the biggest reference to the F4 (the Watchers) combined with Inhumans (F4 characters) losing their movie spot and them never being replaced in any of the other movie slots that Marvel has chosen to keep secret and they were relegated to television (Issac Perlmutter's area when they were it was Kevin Feige who was adamant about their inclusion in the MCU....and they don't get along) then you realize Marvel has something. We were told about Captain Marvel 2 years ago yet whatever Marvel all of a sudden is mysterious and tight lipped about future franchises. Oh and Feige wants the next phase of films to be more cosmic centered......

It's kinda obvious at this point.
