FOX 34 News has learned that a domestic dispute is reported to have taken place at a Wolfforth home, that according to several sources, is the residence of former Texas Tech football defensive coordinator James Willis.

Wolfforth Police Chief Rick Scott confirms that police were called to a home at 305 North 10th in Wolfforth at 3:15, the morning of December 22.

That residence, according to the Lubbock County Appraisal District, is owned by former Texas Tech defensive backs coach, Brian Mitchell. Mitchell is now defense coordinator at East Carolina University.

According to Chief Scott, the victim was a 33-year-old female, who alleged an incident of domestic violence. The officer on scene reported her injuries were minor.

The suspect, according to Scott, was a 38 year old male.  Scott says the male party was not at the home at the time the police arrived.

Scott says no arrest has been made, and that the incident is now under investigation by detectives.

Texas Tech published a press release Sunday night announcing that Willis was no longer with the football program, and had left "to pursue other opportunities".

Willis arrived at Tech in January as Defensive Coordinator for Coach Tommy Tuberville, who had worked with Willis previously at Auburn University. Willis had served most recently as linebackers coach at the University of Alabama, which won the 2009-2010 national Championship.

Coach Tuberville has not addressed the specific reason Willis has left the program, but he did tell assembled media today that he and Willis discussed Willis' status with the team last week.

Tuberville spoke in Dallas, where the team is practicing for its Saturday appearance in the Ticket City Bowl against Northwestern.

watching mike bellotti try to speak on oregon is funny to me. using the words "i think..." as if he's unfamiliar with the team and offense.

WR Kelvin Benjamin has arrived at the O-D bowl in a Florida St windbreaker. He tells me FSU is his slight leader over Miami and Florida.

Mike Sherman leaving A&M for the Texans Job???
That's been floating around since a few weeks ago when it became almost a certainty that Kubiak would be fired, and it hasn't gone away yet.

I wouldn't be surprised if he ended up leaving for an NFL job soon, but I don't think there's anything to those rumors right now.

I really don't know how I'd feel about him leaving after this season. There aren't really any coaches out there right now that I want and/or think we could get.
DeRuyter would prob the be the new HC.. don't think the Texans will go after Sherman though.

Drew Brees needs to stop trying to hawk off his steroids to me.

and why the hell would the camera zoom in on his scar?

There are quite a few that do not respect Harbaugh as a person and do not want him representing the school as their football coach. I do not know if there are enough to not get him hired but they are out there.

Miles never got offered the job because people did not like how he was off the field and thought that his shady actions would cost the university. Now what school is on probation for breaking rules?

They had no clue what RR was about or what his background was and just signed off on him. Kinda felt he was a good ole boy but he knew less about Michigan than they did about him. Both have learned to hate eachother.

I just pray to God that Brandon has a better plan than Bill Martin had because that was an abortion of a hiring process. Dude had Ferentz and Schiano on his list and that was it. Only took RR because his agent called around.

Harbaugh should be the first call but if not him, I would want Gary Patterson here. Brady Hoke is a solid defensive coach and I would think he would get an allowance to grab a top notch OC.

UPDATE: The Advocate reports that Houston freshman quarterback Terrance Broadway has decided to transfer to Louisiana-Lafayette. There is a chance that Broadway may be able to play immediately in 2011, seeing as how he's petitioned the NCAA for a hardship release on account of his transferring for family-related reasons. Broadway reportedly chose the Ragin' Cajuns over Arkansas State, Kansas and Vanderbilt.

I know this isn't developing news to you guys, but this is the first time that I actually looked at Charlie Strong's recruiting classes out at Louisville.  He's bringing in some legit talent out there to the Ville.

A lot of these kids will terrorize the Big East competition, especially the wide receivers.  It's going to be fun to watch Louisville vs TCU in the Big East.
