Graffiti tagger sentenced to 8 years in prison - no chance of parole - Corpus Christi

I used to write back in the days. I got caught hitting up a wall that turned to be school property, because the dude I was bombing with that day got caught and snitched. Long story short cop came into my class (was 16 in HS lol) searched my backpack and found my sketchbooks and paint. Then they also found out about 5 or 6 more throw ups I did around town. Since I was young I just did comm. service. If you get caught hitting up train @ the yard, it's an automatic felony.

If I caught a guy spray painting my house, I wouldn't want to send them to jail. Would I be pissed? Hell yes. But Jail is not a joke, send the real criminals there. Tagging will come right off with some paint. Fines, probation, community service would more than suffice.

I think yall are missing the point of the judge's sentence. Clearly the punishment and fines they give people for graffiti hasn't been a deterrent at all. Now if I knew I could possibly spend 2 years in jail for doing this $$%#, best believe I'm never doing it again. Less, graffiti, saves the city and residents money, problem solved.....unfortunately for this guy he had to be the one made an example of.
