H&M is under fire for racist hoodie

if he (or his team? :rolleyes) gave the ok doesnt that imply they have a say over how the image is disseminated?

therefore "charging them with the crime" means they are complicit

you asked what im saying and i told you
**** your words really

point is if you dont know
you dont know

if that boys parents didnt know
and Lebron didnt know
how can i tell Lebron to sit down?

unless you think Lebron knew what that image meant and agreeed to it

he should know better when most had no idea until the side by side was put up years ago

Yes and no. It's more of a disappointment that he put himself in that situation, allowing that juxtaposition to even occur. It's like making a mistake that in hindsight seems obvious but from where you were sitting before it just wasn't something you were in tune with.

completely understandable

so does that mistake warrant a ‘sit down’?
cmon now

this fake woke movement is so over the top sometimes

i think when they told lebron make a "savage" face with this white woman on his arm he should have had pause to say "wait how am i being portrayed here?"

and what does "**** your words really" mean?

**** like the f word?

**** you too then ***** *** ************ antiman

companies?

the same companies owned by our oppressors?

no i wouldnt think they would.

shut the **** up like our oppressors dont exploit and capitalize off black people's support of each other

hell you already see ppl flippin the picture with the crown but no one would want to put him in that light in real life?

That's not why people are upset and you know it.

folks jumped da gun blaming H&M for nefarious intentions...

my mom had me in a agency when i was wee lil... nothing happens without da parents consent.

folks wanna point da finger? ask his mom why wasn't she offended.

for da record you'd sooner see me in da Gap before you see me in H&M :lol

You gotta remember people tend to speak in hyperbole. "Sit down" is being used in place of asking somebody to check themselves.

At times the level of "woke" people walk in can be overbearing but sometimes it only comes off that way because we often either don't recognize the nuance or ignore it fully.

lets say the mom was cool with it.

does her answer absolve H&M of all responsibility?

isnt that worse if he didnt know?

its basically like vogue played him then

made him take a racist picture that he was ignorant of its meaning

the biggest athlete and role model to millions made a fool

Missed the lebron convo but I do remember the controversy. Def wildin for the photo, but I don't see how it's Bron's fault. I'm younger than that dude, and I've never seen the og King Kong or military posters until the controversy broke out and by then it was printed and distributed right? I mean lebron should have spoke out about it, but I don't see how it's a "he should have known better" scenario personally.

bull ****

they want an equal reaction

and if your thought process doesnt align 100% with theirs they cant handle it

I'm younger than Bron as well but I've seen King Kong a number of times and I can remember several images that look similar to the one being compared. All put together I can see how it could have been put together that hey this doesn't seem like something I want to be involved in. And thinking about it now I'm curious as to how it was presented to them and how they encouraged the poses. I'd think there'd be some statements and suggestions on how to pose that would have sounded a bit weird as well as the initial conversation of what they wanted to achieve with the shoot.

Again, it's a hindsight look at the Bron shoot.

100% true, for some. And it's usually, in my experience those who are JUST NOW starting to "wake up". They start to get a a lil information and now everything is up for question

You in an agency:rofl:

I hate to say it but Lebron prob only woke because it’s now popular to be woke. Where was all this wokeness before Kaep?? I’m a Lebron fan too btw.

I still think it looks worse on Vogue. Bron was only like 23-24 at the time. Dude showed up to have what he thought was harmless shoot with a supermodel. If anything his PR team goofed.
