help!!! my tv just went blank...

so I get home after a long day of work, turn on my tv/xbox and get on netflix.

I'm about halfway thru an episode of the office and my screen goes blank. The audio is still coming thru, I just got a blank screen.

so I turn off my tv, let it chill for a minute and turn it back on. It makes all the normal sounds when you turn it on, it just doesn't fire up the picture.  It then turns itself off and turns on trying to restart itself with no success. It does this for about 3 or 4 times until finally it just stops and the 3 lights at the bottom right just start blinking off and on.

anyone ever have this problem before? I'm thinking its the lamp or fan?  Should I get it repaired, fix it myself, or start looking for a new tv?

Picture tube is busted. Don't bother replacing it, you could get a new tv for the same price

too bad it didn't happen a month or two ago then I woulda jumped on the holiday sales

Go ahead and get yourself an LED or Plasma as a replacement.  Damn those lamps!
