Just found out my cousin back home was tested positive. She went to 1 hospital twice and they turned her away both times I guess because the symptoms she was having wasn't strong enough. She then went to another hospital and they admitted her with pneumonia. She found out today she had it. They put her to sleep and shes on a ventilator because she has chronic asthma. My mom works for a senior living retirement home and they have a strict policy that if you have been around someone that was tested positive, you have to tell them and stay home quarantine for 14 days because she was around my cousin and her son recently. My mom says feels ok but man this **** is freaking me out thinking how many of my family members can/could've contracted this just from being in contact with my cousin. This is starting to hit home for me know. I cleaned my apt up and down today. Sanitized everything. I trust my cousin will beat this thing. So just trying to stay positive best I can. Please be vigilant out there guys.

And to follow up on this. What sent my cousin to the hospital was that she was having issues breathing. Both times the doctors blamed her issues on her asthma and sent her home because she had no fever. (The 2nd time, they gave her medicine which didn't work anyways because they misdiagnosed her). But I thought they said people that had underlying conditions ie chronic asthma are more prone to the virus?? And people can have it and show no symptoms. Why send her home and not admit her?? Ok so now we have a bigger issue because there were people around my cousin at the hospital that sent her away like doctors, nurses, other patients. Plus my cousin took an uber to the hospital. All those people that may have come in contact with her need to know she has it and they need to be quarantined to right? All my family that has come in contact with her are taking their precautions now but what about the others?? The first hospital was irresponsible when handling my cousins claim imo. Being irresponsible is how this junk spreads. As I said Please be vigilant out there guys and responsible.

And I definitely won't argue against that, as that's a valid point. And I tend to agree.

But there are varying degrees of tomfoolery that have taken place with our Presidents. And not all of it is equal. So lumping them all together and painting them with a broad brush just seems like a very convenient way of shrugging off this joke of a presidency as "par for the course" (which it is not). As much of a clown as Bush II was, I dare say he'd look brilliant compared to Trumpito when it comes to how he would've approached this pandemic. And that's saying A LOT.

Get what you mean. Specifically only to what you mentioned and not anything else, some points that I keep in mind: Trump is a New Yorker throughly, Junior is Establishment Patrician background. Observation not Judgement.
9/11, multi Wars, Govt waste, etc. Done with NeoCons.
Appreciate the level discussion. Back to Thread Topic.
Stay Safe out there. Serious.

The funny thing is we had the doctor, call our doctor who was on call in that hospital. He told him it wasn't important. Nearly swung on dude after seeing my doctor the next day.

Doctors aren't the same anymore. Obviously not sure where you are from. But growing up our Family Doc was this older old-school Israeli military dude, who was thorough, took all emergency calls, would visit you if in hospital, told you exactly worst case all things. Recent younger guy more relaxed, makes yourself figure out things, more bottom line.
Different vibes.

I mean, the truth is, in SF, people really do want to help the homeless, just not in their neighborhood (the navigation center).

At least tigers can get a test and us humans can’t
I think using the test for the tiger was a good move. They'll monitor him and run further tests. Maybe help us understand this thing better from a different view. Having a confirmed case of human to animal contact with animal having symptoms is important. Remember, we still don't know exactly what were dealing with here, any data from other infected animals who are sick is a good thing. Although I'm sure the government has already transferred the virus from human to animal for testing on the low. Pure speculation btw, but I sure as hell hope so. Anything to gain more of an understanding of what were dealing with from all angles of life is good imo.

Not surprising. It’s the result of Chicago forcing black people from the “nice” parts and dumping them into neighborhoods with very limited access to the resources the rest of the city enjoys. Similar thing is happening in NYC, another city that has diversity but also so much segregation. I haven’t seen the data for Cali metro areas, but I’m sure it’s similar. Areas being hit the most are where poorer black people/minorities live.

the way cities are being affected here are the same as major cities in what Americans condescendingly call “third world countries”. Testing, access to the best healthcare, ability to work from home for the well off, but all the poorer people are dying because the governments have neglected them for decades and are refusing to protect them now.

Also this goes to how poor and limited our testing is. If our government would get off its *** and increase the amount of test and finally get some rapid tests it would solve so much ****. But even in this time of crisis they’re still favoring labs and companies to help their profit margins. Money really is evil.
