how do you read an oil jug thing

theres a bunch of lines on the side. there are 5.28 qts. and the oil goes over the top line.


what the heck.

one of these +%%+@+% things. the lines are put there with no guide as to what that means.

is that line a quart? a liter? 20 ozs? what!!!

but you should use the dipstick to tell how much is your tank anyway...then add some and retest til the stick reads full...but don't overfill!!!!!!!!!!!
 
Well, I'm assuming there are 5 marking points Since oil is sold and usually added in quarts.

Some big jugs have liters marked on 1 side of the strip and quarts on the other and is labeled towards the bottom.

1 quart bottles actually have 2 sets of lines - Probably OZ and ML....

But yeah, that is dumb that they don't have it marked..
