HOW MATERIALISTIC ARE YOU NT!?

I like nice things, but I also know that material items don't bring me happiness.

The happiness of those surrounding me truly makes me happy.

All of the toys I have are just that - toys.

I stopped caring about material things long ago.  It will only make you happy for a short time. Not to say live like a bum but all that collecting and chasing stuff is old news.

*raises hand* I know I am. I've been working my #%+ off since January saving up to get my s14, and if all goes good, August will be my lucky month to where I complete the cash I need to get the one I have my eyes on.

This proves that I've been working just for a damn car instead of helping out others in my family that need it.

(yes I feel guilty)

No. But I like the stuff I have to be nice. That doesn't mean it HAS to be expensive, though.

If you work hard to attain materialism (i.e. nice car, nice house) I don't think it makes anyone shallow, insecure, or any other negative connotations people tend to associated materialistic people with. But there is a fine line of OD'ing it in my books.

Id say yes to a certain extent but others who know me would say hella materialistic

The only important thing is to not let stuff/possessions take over your life where it becomes the only thing you can think about is buying new stuff.
Keep it moderate

I could care less about cars, I could care less about a fancy house. In all honesty I am more addicted to learning and knowledge then I am of anything of material. (But being addicted or craving of knowledge can also be bad)
I would suggest reading "Dharma Bums"

great book
Lil B is that you?

There's only one kind of material I really want: cars. Clothes, shoes, houses, I'm content with what people would consider "average" or "above average" (still stylish though, at least in my eyes - big fan of Nike/Under Armour, both of which are brand name but relatively cheap). But cars, I plan to own the best ones that I like and have a solid collection (around 10 or so).

For me, they are my way of knowing that I've made it. Ever since I was a kid I've wanted/dreamed about having nice cars, and growing up I was and still am not wealthy enough to afford any kind of car, let alone a nice one. Also, I am a huge speed demon and you just can't go flying everywhere in cheap cars - they aren't made for that.

Without cars as a way to know I've reached my ideal level of success, I have no other indicator, and one of my greatest fears is to live contently. I'm very happy with my life now, but I also live with my parents, and have never held a salary-paying job. The cars will provide motivation and a dream to strive for.

I'm not a fan of showing off. It feels good for about 20 minutes then it gets very annoying. I'm also a quiet guy by nature so the attention makes me feel uncomfortable. My chase for materials is to prove to myself that I've made it, not for anyone else to judge and take advantage of.

Yo sOn u are really smart for you age my dude. Judging form a collection of your post on threads that interest me, we are very similar in thought process and I'm 23. But anywho I cosign this to the fullest. Cars are my thing every sincE I was little. It's so bad that cars are really the only thing that keeps my sanity. If you like cars like that peep speedhunters.com absolutely the best car blog. Also I wouldn't say I'm not materialistic I would say I'm just conscious of the finer things in life. I drive a 350z bit dude you just dont know how many times a day I think about a gtr and that Zonda R. That to me is the sign that I made it because cars are my passion and they are expensive. With that said mOney if a hard to come by. Less than 10% of Americans make over 100k a yr and less than 30% of that 10% are black. So if you can acquire one of those prestigious cars you genuinely desire it. That alone speaks for your hustle. Like seeing pharrell in his Enzo dude pharrell been in the game for a minute and has worked with almost Any artist you fan think of. So yeah he deserves that right to be materialistic. So in a nutshell I am but not. It gives me something to live for and keeps me focused on my goals. To each his own. I swear I will never own a sedan/sub unless I'm a family and at that is will still be a spots car like an evolution 10 or 4 door M3. I'm allergic to anything else but couPes.
