iPhone on T-Mobile and no data plan?

I already tried asking this in the iphone thread but didn't get an answer so I'm going to try here. If i don't have a data plan, is it still worthit to have the iphone? Because I am about to get an iphone from my mom's friend but i don't have a data plan. I'm also on t-mobile. I'm goingto unlock the iphone but then it seems like a lot of the apps use data. So I'm wondering if it's still worth it to keep the iphone or should i just usemy current phone (Samsung Behold).

my bro has the iphone for tmobile and uses tzones to use internet and it works perfectly. im about to get an iphone for tmobile when the prices go down.

Its like buying a Lambo and making it into a 4 cyl.

I want to do the $5.99 t-zones thing. But I'm pretty sure that T-Mobile discontinued that.

Well the thing is that I'm probably going to get the iPhone for less than $100 anyways. So why not?

Most of them, yes. Unless the games, but you mid as well get an iPod Touch for those and use Wi-Fi.

forget the iphone...it doesnt even make sense to have a behold without data

if you just make calls get a t229
if you make calls and text, get a gravity
if you make calls, text, check email, websurf, want apps, ect than look into a BB, iphone, G1 or something similar.

That car analogy was on point.
You also dont buy a top of the line computer to play freecell and minesweeper.

yeah t-mobile service is horrible. the only reason i still use it is because its cheap. my friends who have verizon have way better service and always haveservice when i do not.
