Is Dwyane Wade the 3rd best SG of all time?

What's the point of this thread if every credible argument for Iverson is going to be rebutted by a look at the stats or look at the numbers argument? Unless you're talking NBA2k__ it makes no sense. Since you made the claim that Dwayne Wade is the 3rd best SG how about you create some credible categories and not just the ones that favor Wade. That whole "Iverson assist" reference is also complete bs. For those that watched those Sixers games, Iverson made Aaron Mckie and Eric Snow into credible spot up shooters simply off of him drawing the defense in and kicking it out to them in the corner. Hell Kyle Korver should thank the high heavens for Allen Iverson, since because of Iverson he gained the confidence and later recognition for becoming a three pt specialist off of "Iverson assists." Anyways I'm done there are too many day after the fact Sportcenter watchers, daily news stat line readers that try to argue basketball, talking about the actual game doesn't count as much as the numbers.

He is not 3rd best all-time. That '06 Finals series was suspect. I'd say top 5 though. He's definitely put together a career. 2 rings, Finals MVP, a string of All-Star appearances, scoring title, All-NBA, etc.

I wouldn't put Iverson over him either.

@DC We can name players that can or have been able to guard Wade. You can't tell me Bron can't guard Wade. Kobe can slow down Wade when he wants to, and that's just two names to start. Name any players in the history of the league that you would confidently put in front of AI in a one on one situation and believe he'll even slow Iverson marginally. I'll wait....

Again I ask, which Wade are you referring to. Which year.

Kyle Korver in college:

'99-'00: 43.4% on threes, 89.5% at the line

'00-'01: 45.2% on threes, 86.7% at the line

'01-'02: 42.9% on threes, 89.0% at the line

'02-'03: 48.0% on threes, 90.8% at the line

Thank God Allen Iverson gave him the confidence he needed to become a good shooter.

Dude had a six year stretch in his prime where he shot 42% or lower. It was not difficult to make Iverson miss shots.

That was the only hope in stopping AI. Just hope he misses more shots than usual.

You can put any Wade you want to in there, and I'll find a defender that could SLOW him down respective to that year.

Wade made a run with Shaq.....another run with Lebron/bosh...nothing without them.....iverson had nobody! And made some decent runs in the playoffs while averaging 29.5 a game.......

I like em both, but a.i. Is ahead of him on the list

Who would yall have rather drafted in the 1st round and have be your franchise player for 10+ years... D Wade or Paul Pierce? Who's better?

Give me Pierce

Edit: i know Pierce doesnt play the 2 but my point is how deep is the 2 if D Whistle is top 3 all time? Lol. Wade is a great player but mehh

Pierce and i hate pierce

Top 3 douche bag. Ive never seen anything like it.

And to think I grew up loving this dude for what he did at Marquette for the city of Milwaukee. Now everytime I see him I just wanna punch him in the face. The hate is too strong he'll never be top 3 or top 5 in my eyes.

Pierce, Manu, Ray Ray, Reggie, A.I., West, Gervin > Wade

Iverson and Wade are two diff players. Their size difference is huge. Wade has about 4-5 inches and 65-70 lbs on iverson.
Iverson did not really have a defined position.

Why do people act as if A.I had a short prime? lol he was a franchise player for 10 + seasons
Wade is on the decline and isnt really a franchise player now that lebron is there...
03-10 is only 7 years...you tell me

 are you mad doggy? throwing in names that you don't even believe to discredit wade as being at least a top 5 off-guard

IMO peak performance>longevity. Wade at the peak of his powers, was incredible, he was like a 6-4 mini lebron. I don't really think what he does from ages 31-38 matters to my opinion of him.

How can you go by that?

In that case you should put T-Mac over Wade. Hell maybe even over Kobe.

I am trippin over the fact that my man said Kyle Korver was made into a great shooter from playing with AI.

Whatever point you're trying to make here is not a valid argument for why a player is better than another, all-time.

Edit: This thread...
